Part of a barn conversion, this attractive holiday apartment is on two levels and is situated on the edge of the small village of Gilsland which lies on the line of Hadrian’s Wall. The access path for walking this historic Roman monument is 110 yards from the door step. Steeped in history, there are 14 major Roman sites, forts and museums to explore amidst the stunning landscape of this World Heritage Site. Take in the atmosphere of the bustling cities, market towns and quaint villages along the way. Indulge in the delightful locally produced food and drink you will inevitably come across in this unforgettable part of the world. Shop and pub 500 yards.

External stairs to entrance. First floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Second floor: 1 double bedroom. Dressing room. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

  1. We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was excellent, lovely. & peaceful. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. In a convenient location for reaching Hadrians Wall and all the roman sites & museums, excellent walks nearby. Was disappointed however as The Samson the pub that did food and also the Village shop had closed down. The Bridge pub further on through Gilsland serves drinks only no food but opposite is the House of Meg that does food at certain times and keeps basic groceries. Aug 2012.
  2. Excellent accommodation, superb scenery, would definitely go back to this apartment. Will highly recommend this place to our friends and family. May 2012.
  3. Very good barn conversion and very cosy. But need to be aware that this is upstairs accommodation and be wary of the very steep steps up to the accommodation that in wet weather could be very slippy. The weather was very good and we were out all day either walking or cycling. March 2012.
  4. This is an excellent clean modern cottage, perfectly situated to explore what northumerland has to offer. We enjoyed a long weekend here, and would love to return. Oct 2011.
  5. A good clean comfortable property with all mod cons, excellent value for money, situated in a quiet area, the surrounding countryside is beautiful, very close to Harians wall and museums, also interesting towns and villages to explore. We would certainly recommend. Sept 2011.
  6. A well planned and immaculate cottage, extremely well situated for Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum. A day in Hexham was also a delight. Some steps to the accommodation. Aug 2011.
