For outdoor pursuits, the nearby forests and Brotonne Nature Reserve offer stunning scenery and a wide range of leisure pursuits, while Monet’s house and gardens at Giverny, the charming fishing port of Honfleur and the busy metropolis of Paris are all an hour or so by car.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Wonderful location and property, but some fixtures were in need of some TLC - the tap leaked badly into the cupboard under the sink, the freezer seal was defective and the TV made a loud buzzing noise. There was also an unexplained fan in the kitchen which ran day and night and could be heard throughout the property. There is no ’bar nearby’ as stated on the details, or shop within walking distance. A downstairs toilet would have been useful - we think there’s one just the other side of a locked door in the shower. All that said, we’d have moved in permanently quite happily. July 2011.
  2. The cottage was located in a very secluded location in rural Normandy but not too far way from many of Normandy’s main attractions. The cottage was spacious and comfortable but does require some modernisation in our opinion. A DVD player would have been a useful addition unless you speak fluent French. Rouen is not far away and well worth a visit as were many of the other excellent attractions within a 50 mile radius of the cottage. However, Normandy is a massive province and this must not be overlooked when booking a holiday in this part of France. To reach the ’D’ Day beaches or the Battlefields of the Somme requires a long drive but it is well worth the time and effort. As a family we will certainly return to this part of France again. June 2011.
  3. We primarily went there for a cottage based cycling holiday. The cycling around the local area and the forest areas was superb. Cycling in to Rouen and taking in the sights was a excellent day. We also travelled to Paris and parked up in Versaille and took the train to the city centre. An truly memorable experience. However, it was a long day and in hind sight would have pre-booked the train from Rouen (its cheaper to advance book on the internet). Overall a excellent relaxing holiday, one we shall look to repeat very soon. May 2011.
  4. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a quiet, but very convenient, location. April 2011.
  5. Characterful gite in the grounds of a spectacular chateau. Very well located for touring the area and less than an hour from the port of Dieppe. The caretakers were none English speaking but were still very helpful and welcoming, more reason to brush up on your French before you go! Guests were free to wander round the grounds and explore the surrounding woodlands. A great value holiday in a priceless setting - highly recommended. April 2011.
  6. A marvellous location for enjoying the French countryside. Feb 2011.
  7. It is in a most peaceful place, but is also useful for access to various places of interest as well as immediate access to open countryside. A woodburning stove added to the ambiance. Dec 2010.
  8. Felt very special being next to a beautiful chateau! Sept 2010.
  9. Just what we expected from a French cottage. Aug 2010.
  10. The setting was excellent and peaceful. June 2010.
  11. The owner was excellent. Aug 2008.
  12. Very helpful owners and caretaker. Cottage facilities very good, set in the grounds of a beautiful chateau. Feb 2009.
  13. The owner was a wonderful host and her assistants were also very hospitable. Our stay was wonderful, and we would consider staying there again. April 2008.
