Property Description

A cosy thatched cottage with roses round its door (left of photograph), Little Holme is typical of the pretty properties which make Lustleigh one of Devon’s most picturesque villages, and voted 18th in the Telegraph’s best English Villages in 2014. One of a pair centrally set on the village green, close to the church and the Primrose Tea Rooms (famous for its superb cream teas), it is convenient for the village shop, inn and restaurant. An ideal holiday location for walkers, with walks from the front door and on the surrounding moorland, which offers riding, bird-watching and touring (Widecombe, Chagford and Haytor are all close by). Teignmouth 30 minutes by car. Lustleigh hosts excellent country fairs every May Day and August Bank Holiday. Many excellent restaurants in Chagford and Ashburton. Shop 30 yards.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. No mobile reception in cottage, although could climb up to churchyard (30 yards) to get one. Great to have a well-stocked village shop open every day (50 yards) not mention pub and cream teas, stream and pretty footpaths. June 2012.
  2. Beautiful cottage which is so cosy - perfect nights in front of the wood burning stove & the underfloor heating was an added bonus! The pub (a minute’s stagger away) is very friendly and serves great food, including the best bread & butter pudding I’ve ever tasted! Would recommend without hesitation & will be back there again myself. Nov 2011.
  3. Beautiful cottage, very clean and had everything we needed. Pub next door does fantastic food and very friendly. Lovely village shop and playground for the kids in an orchard. Great all round really. Aug 2011.

  8. Exceptionally pretty cottage, right out of a Helen Allingham watercolour. Well and comfortably furnished. Delightful village, we had long conversations with neighbours who passed the front door. Staircase to bedrooms a bit challenging to persons of arthritic tendancy - no handrails. June 2010.
  9. This cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Just how a cottage should be. In a lovely village and everything was in it that you could have possibly wanted. May 2010.

  13. The property was spotlessly clean, well equipped, very comfortable and we were amazed at the amount of storage space. There was also plenty of information on places to go, how to use equipment etc. The village is lovely and the people very friendly. We found it to be a typical chocolate-box English country cottage. Sept 2009.

  20. Cosy, very well equipped cottage in idyllic setting in a small, very friendly village. Close to charming tea room, village pub with a garden that does good food, friendly village shop and post office and lovely play ground in the village orchard. Considerate owners who have equipped the cottage with a huge amount of useful information about local attractions ans a fantastic collection of books about Dartmoor. We left determined to return.
