Property Description

These single storey semi-detached holiday cottages (refs 26209 and 26210) are located in an AONB, 6 miles south of Bath, and on the edge of the picturesque village of Faulkland. The cottages are built in the converted stable buildings of this former farm and retain original features including beams and exposed stone walls. Both enjoy stunning southerly views over the garden and beyond. The village has useful amenities including two pubs, a post office and village shop, and there is a lovely green complete with old wooden stocks and the now famous Somerset Lavender farm. The location is ideal for exploring the attractions in Wiltshire and Somerset, including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Tor, the beautiful cathedral in Wells, Stourhead House and Gardens, Stonehenge and Longleat Safari Park. Just 15 minutes from the centre of Bath, where you can visit the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, the Royal Crescent, the abbey, or just enjoy the unique shops, cafés, galleries, museums and restaurants. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 2 double bedrooms: one (5ft) with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet, 2 steps up to one (6ft zip and link) with additional single and en-suite shower room with toilet.

Both properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Shared lawned garden. Patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. No smoking.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Loved this property, imagine it would be amazing sitting out in summer - we however had snow. There is a lovely walk into the village, again wrong time of year as completely waterlogged! No complaints, would choose again... Oct 2012.
  2. Found the property warm and comfortable. It was in a lovely quiet and peaceful position and the owners were welcoming and helpful. However the heating was noisy, eventually I had to turn it off. The television turned itself off repeatedly with only sound on. Sept 2012.
  3. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but the stable is easy high on the top of the best cottage list. We have no problem recommending the stable to others & have already told friends how good it was. The grounds & views were all great and the owners made us feel very welcome if its piece & quite or great days out this the perfect holiday cottage plus if you don’t feel like cooking the local pub has a great menu & good food thanks again for a great stay. Sept 2012.
  4. Very isolated, great for activity holidays. A car is essential as nothing is within walking distance. Plenty of places to visit within a short drive. Oct 2011.
  5. A well appointed comfortable property, great location and fantastic setting. The owners seemed friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again when in the area. Oct 2011.
  6. Lovely location with view over fields, fairly remote so car needed to reach all destinations apart from the local village of Faukland. Taxi to Bath £20-£25 each way. Loved layout, nice and comfortable interior. Would recommend to couples, families for peaceful break. Oct 2011.
  7. The property was so well equipped, that we needed to take nothing with us, the proprietors were both helpful and friendly. The park and ride facility just down the road was excellent for accessing Bath town centre. Sept 2011.
  8. Well fitted out with every thing we needed. Owners very helpful. Sept 2011.
  9. Very well set out and furnished. June 2011.
  10. Ian and Judy (and Ken, the original owner) were extremely helpful when needed. Stable cottage is well located and found for, with expansive views to the distant hills. The Wi-Fi connection was simplicity itself. We found it to be amongst the best we have visited. May 2011.
