Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Large residence set in beautiful grounds. It was not quite in pristine condition, but had a lived-in, rustic feel. More appliances/conveniences than expected and the owner is lovely and helpful. Sept 2012.
  2. The property is ideally set in the grounds of a beautiful Chateau The owners are very welcoming and you are free to roam the wonderful gardens. The very rural location does mean that it is essential to drive or cycle for shops and whilst relaxing, the cockerels, owls, dogs, foxes and church bell that chimes every half hour and peals twice a day means that it is not particularly quiet! Aug 2012.
  3. The property was excellent easy to find. The reception of the lady was very good and kind. Thank you. Feb 2012.
  4. Lovely place to stay, well equipped, spacious and interesting location, especially for those interested in WW1. The woodburner once lit, made the place warm and comfortable. The chateau itself and the village are very attractive. We stayed for a few days over Christmas and the owners even erected a Christmas tree for us. They are very nice, friendly people who speak excellent English and were polite enough to listen to me speaking French. I would recommend this property. Dec 2011.
  5. Beautiful gardens to walk about, it is no wonder it is called Les Jardines du Chateau, we even saw a Red Squirrel, which makes it a change from the grey things, that we have in this country. Weather was fantastic, we struck it lucky this time. The pub in the village was not open, that would have been handy, just to go for a walk in the evening for a glass of wine. We were rather surprised by the cost of eating out, we found it much dearer that eating out at home, but the cost of diesel made up a little bit of it, we found that the cheapest diesel was 130.9 euros per litre in the Supermarkets. May 2011.
  6. The property is very "rustic" but does have a French charm, which made our stay enjoyable. The property is very spacious with plenty of bedrooms and the Master bed is big and very comfortable. The enormous log fire is easy to lite and does provide a lot of heat for those cool evenings. April 2011.
  7. This is a very nice property on lovely grounds. Spacious, cosy, a very nice gite for spending time with friends and family. The surrounding villages are nice and guise has suitable supermarkets. The owner is wonderful, very nice and helpful, it was difficult to leave on our last day. Jan 2011.
  8. It was spacious and provided all the necessary things you would require as a large group. There was plenty of seating for both relaxing as well as dining and there was a lovely outdoor facility too. Oct 2010.
  9. Set in a beautiful location. Owners very helpful. Cottage is of a very good standard. Oct 2010.
  10. Good size, set in a really lovely setting owners friendly. Feb 2010.
  11. Just lovely home from home. Oct 2009.
  12. A really lovely gite - we have stayed in French gites many times over the past 15 years, and this was one of the best. Excellent accommodation, good size (especially for just two of us!), beautiful location, and welcoming owners. Would recommend it to anyone. Sept 2009.
  13. A lovely cottage in the grounds of a chateau. Helpful owner and quiet location in a small village off the beaten track. Aug 2009.
  14. The cottage is in the grounds of a beautiful Chateau. An extremely quiet and idyllic area to relax totally. Very French! No English people at all. April 2009.
  15. This is an outstanding property; the furnishings are of a very high quality and exceptionally clean and well kept. There are masses of space and the setting is breathtaking. The owners were friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. We will definitely go back. The area around the chateau is very nice and people were very friendly. We have been to France many times but this one really is a ’Jewell in the Crown’. Oct 2008.
  16. We found the gite to be very well equipped very much a home from home. The setting is very quiet and peaceful a good place to unwind. The owners are very friendly to the point of inviting us to the England/France rugby semi final at the chateau! We hope to return one day. Oct 2007.
  17. We were very lucky as we had excellent weather but the property was excellent for a family. April 2007.
  18. Will be loking to use this cottage again and have recomended it to friends. The owner was very welcoming and helpfull. Feb 2007.
  19. The cottage was exceptional value for money. The friendliness of the owners (although our French wasn’t too good) was brilliant. The location great and the cleanliness excellent. Brilliant holiday!!! June 2007.
