Property Description

This unrivalled, detached property overlooks a large 2.5 acre lake with coarse fishing, rowing boat and a small island in the middle, favourable for lounging on the bank. The holiday home provides good comfort for six people, with a TV in each bedroom and its large living/dining room overlooking the lake. In addition, the keyholder, living in the apartment at the back of the house, is at your disposal. There is a super indoor pool complex in which the pool is heated to 28° all year and there is also a sauna and Jacuzzi. There is also a laptop provided with free Internet access. The lovely local beaches include Jard-sur-Mer and La Tranche-sur-Mer and are within a 30-minute drive.

  1. The accommodation is adequate with a nice size fridge freezer and cooker. I find it annoying there is no supply of dishwasher tablets and the bedding is sheets and blankets. The heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi is excellent and the lake is beautiful containing large and small fish, although we never managed to catch the big ones. There are a few sheep, a pig, goats chickens and geese that like to eat any food scraps. The key holders/owners, who live on site, are very pleasant and helpful and not at all intrusive, and although they don’t speak any English and our French is very minimal, we managed to communicate very well. The weather was sunny with temperatures in the mid-20s where we had a very relaxing holiday. We found a very good Hyper U supermarket in Lucon (about 10 miles) that stays open until 8pm Mon – Sat including a Flunch restaurant next door, that stayed open until 9.30pm. This is a fast food restaurant with a very reasonable menu. This was handy when you wanted a quick bite to eat without having to book a table and was very reasonably priced. There was also a 24 hour petrol station on this site. I would recommend this holiday home and would holiday there again. July 2012.

  11. Absolutely idyllic setting and very relaxing. All the animals were a welcome surprise - ducks, geese, chickens and sheep!! Can I also say here that the only thing that let the accommodation down was the quality of the mattresses. Old and uncomfortable. New mattresses would make this property absolutely perfect. May 2008.
