Property Description

These two 14th century stone holiday cottages with exposed stone and beams are set in the grounds of the impressive Château Salvert in the heart of the Loire Valley. Throughout they have been furnished to a good standard by the owners, who have been resident here for many generations. The woodlands of the château grounds are home to a profusion of wildlife, including wild boar which can occasionally be seen from the window. Each has a private terrace for outdoor dining. There is a swimming pool shared with the owners and guests near the château, including an attractive barn-style pool house with a lovely view, 150m away. The château town of Saumur lies 10 minutes to the south, with a chance to sample some of the world famous sparkling wine and one of the many fine restaurants which can be found here.

  2. Spacious bedrooms, plenty of storage space for clothes. Bath and separate shower great, especially with younger children. Nice kitchen area and comfortable seating and eating area. Very clean and tidy,but also homely - could relax a little with young children as not too much glass for dirty hand prints etc. Lots of outdoor space and lovely pool which is a little walk from the property - again great for young children as don’t have to worry that they may wander in accidentally on their own. June 2010.

  7. The location was quiet and peaceful. The cottage itself renovated to a high standard and very attractive. There was a boulangerie within walking distance. The cottage has its own private outdoor space despite its relative closeness to the other cottage. Mature trees provided penty of space. The owner and his family were charming and helpful. The swimming pool was a good size and well maintained. The cottage has all equipment including tumble dryer. July 2008.
