It adjoins the home of the discreet owners, sharing the very pretty gardens and swimming pool (open 10:00 -12:00 & 16:00 -18:00). The delightful interior offers a simple kitchen and Provençal furnishings, and the bedroom has an exposed stone wall and attractive en-suite shower room. A dining terrace overlooking the garden offers the perfect place to relax. Nearby Vaison-la-Romaine boasts a Tuesday morning farmers’ market offering local produce, and the region is renowned for its wines. Visit Mont Ventoux spectacular views over lavender fields and vines.

Location: 1km from Villedieu (bakers, bar, restaurant, shops, tennis), 6km N of Vaison-la-Romaine (Roman remains, château, Tuesday morning market), 30km NE of Orange (attractive towns, larger shops), 25km N of Beaumes-de-Venise (famous for its dessert wine).

  1. We had the most beautiful holiday and we are definitively going to go back. J’adore la Procence! The owners were lovely and very helpful and the view of Mont Ventoux was stunning. The nearest town (Vaison la Romaine) has everything you need and you should go at the top where the castle is to see the whole city. Next time, we are going up Mont Ventoux. June 2011.

  3. The property is exactly as advertised on the web site. One of the benefits is that it is very private and overlooks only the garden and vineyards so the patio cannot be seen by anyone. The kitchen is well fitted out so cooking is easy if you want to do that. The pool is lovely but it is very much part of the main house and the owners do use that area extensively. The only downside of the flat is that the bed is very hard (fine for those who like it that way). Aug 2010.

  7. A delightful annexe amidst vinyards and countryside. Perfect for a romantic break. Everything we needed was provided. Stunning views. Tasty BBQ’s, stunning restaurants a short drive away and a fascinating French market on Tuesdays. The gite owners could not have been more friendly but discreet. Nothing was too much trouble although they thought us mad using the pool in May! A short walk (up a hill!) into the village of villedieu where drinks in the square recommended. Everyone very friendly and encouraging with our moderate French. Lots of medieval villages to explore and the ideal holiday for cyclists. We will definitely return! May 2010.
  8. Excellent for the summer months, but rather cold off season (late October in our case). Something on the cool tiled floors would be nice, particularly in the bedroom, e.g. rugs. The views and privacy were good. Wonderfully quiet. Oct 2009.
  9. I thought that the accommodation was absolutely excellent and the setting and nearby village was fantastic. There was total privacy when needed. The pool was very good and the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I am certain that we will go back again. Aug 2008.

  12. A perfect hideaway for two in every respect, completely tranquil, lovely setting, wonderful views, lots of interesting things to do in close range, above all the perfect hosts, always friendly and willing to help but never intrusive. April 2007.
  13. The gite is charming and comfortable, looking out from a secluded terrace over vineyards and the mountains beyond. The terrace is not overlooked in any way by the owners, but they are available if needed for advice. The local village is within walking distance and has a small supermarket which stocks local produce and essentials, there is also a bar and a pizzeria. April 2006.
