1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

This well presented holiday barn conversion has extensive gardens with lawns, well maintained flowerbeds and magnificent views. The swimming pool with security cover, can be heated on request and is shared by the owners who live on site in a neighbouring property. However the pool cannot be seen from owner’s property. It is 2km to the village of Domfront for restaurant and shops. Further shops and a tennis court are available at Conlie, 4km. There is a swimming lake for children at Sille-le-Guillaume, 15km, as well as plenty of walks in lovely forests close by. The world famous Loire châteaux are about an hour and a half drive and Le Mont Saint-Michel is worth a day trip to the Brittany coast, a 2 hour drive. Le Mans, famous for its 24 hour race, is also only 20km away.

Two steps to entrance. Ground floor: Living room with open fire. Dining room/kitchen area. Separate WC. First floor: Four twin bedrooms (can be double), each with en-suite shower room/WC. Twin and single bedroom sharing en-suite bathroom/WC. Open-tread, open-sided, spiral stairs to mezzanine with single bed (unsuitable for children)

Location: 1.5km from Domfront (restaurant, bakery), 4km from Conlie (shops, tennis court, restaurants, market), 15km from Sillé-le-Guillaume (swimming lake, forest walks, château, restaurants), 20km from Le Mans (Old Town, museums, gardens, cathedral, markets), 120km from the Loire Valley (châteaux).

  2. Lovely location, very pleasant owners with good English. Very spacious accommodation. Lovely pool. Outside everything on a slope so difficult to eat out, but huge open sided (one side), is a huge play area should the weather be adverse. Aug 2011.
  3. We had a wonderful warm welcome from the owners who were available if we had any problems (we didn’t). The accommodation was perfect for our party of 13 plus baby and the pool a great success on the hot sunny days. The surrounding countryside was stunning and provided excellent evening walks. The village was conveniently close so early morning walks to the bakery were a popular form of exercise! Good roads made trips to local places of interest easy. We would gladly holiday there again.   4. The Grand Gaigné has everything to make it a really enjoyable holiday experience. We were a family of eleven and all of us, from 3 to 80, loved it. We were asked on leaving if there was anything that we could suggest that might have been missing. None of us could think of anything. The view, the location, the comfort and the facilities were everything that we had been led to expect. We were particularly impressed with the swimming pool. It was a real pool built to be enjoyed by swimmers of all ages. The safety arrangements were the best that we have ever encountered from the protective hedge, fence and gate that could not be opened by young children to the electronic cover which was put in place every night and which was strong enough to carry small children walking over it. Last, but not least. Having the owners living in another house on the same large property, in no way detracted from the privacy that we enjoyed but, because of their charm and helpfulness, made the holiday even more enjoyable. July 2010.
  5. Fantastic holiday, gorgeous house and surroundings, wonderful family, made to feel very welcome, we will recommend to family and friends. Will book again! Our party consisted of 10 people, 4 adults and 6 children and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a relaxing holiday, we are sorry to be leaving. April 2008.
  6. Excellent quality 15th Century converted barn, with garage for at least 3 cars (keeps cars cool). Most rooms had good quality on suite facilities. Satellite TV with a limited number of English channels. Pool had large jet which allows swimming in one place etc. Wonderful views over a pretty valley. Domfront itself is about 1/2 mile away, has restaurant, small bar and ’boulangerie’. Friendly, on site owners, who spoke good English. Visited lake at Sille: has beach with facilities, canoes, wind surfing and good for cycling around - 2.4 miles round lake. Le Mans has a relatively large medieval quarter, modern shopping centre and ’out of town’ shops/restaurantes - all of good quality. Supermarket at Conlie is relatively large has a good sized non food section, selling pool toys, lilos, dingies etc. August 2008.
  7. The scenery was amazing and so peaceful. Mr et Mme de Boncourt were welcoming and helpful. The house was very well prepared. During our stay we visited the historic sit of Mont St Michel and the city centre of Le Mans. We also enjoyed the facilities provided here such as the pool and the ping pong table! June 2008
  8. We have stayed in many ’holiday homes’ in our annual ’vacances’ but this has surpassed our expectations in every way. The house is so well laid out and equipped. Thank you for making our stay so special. Your kindness will be remembered by us for many years. July 2007.
