Property Description

This delightful, former farm building has been tastefully renovated to provide comfortable accommodation. Located within the owners’ farm, the property is surrounded by quiet fields and woods, with lanes ideal for cycling. The holiday resort of Plouha is reached in a two minute drive and has all amenities, including a sailing school, horse riding and windsurfing. Four beautiful sandy beaches are close by. The largest of these, Palus beach, is only 6km away. The 18-hole ‘Ajoncs d’Or’ golf course is within easy driving distance. Local attractions include the cliffs of Plouha - the highest in Brittany - and the mysterious caves underneath them.

Location: 9km NW of St. Quay-Portrieux (marina, casino, restaurants), 17km S of Paimpol (swimming pool), 30km N of St. Brieuc (historic town, restaurants).

  1. Leave the noise of the city behind and lend your ears to the noise of humming bees and cooing doves - this is all you will hear around here. Very friendly hosts living next door will greet you with self made cidre, crepes and fruits harvested in their own garden. The spacy property is equipped functionally and leaves nothing to be desired. The coast is only a 5 minute drive away, plenty of rocks, long sandy and not overcrowded beaches are waiting for you. Even the small town of Plouha has everything a tourist needs: weekly market around the church, supermarche´ and recommendable restaurants. July 2012.
  2. Lovely countryside, great for access to the nearby beaches and cliffs. pleasant owner, beware his home brewed cider! Brush up your French before you go. Plouha a great little town with a fantastic butcher. May 2012.
  3. Lovely tranquil location with lots of bike ride and walks straight from the cottage and a huge choice of great beaches a short ride away. Very kind and welcoming owners next door. Spacious, nicely appointed gite. Aug 2011.
  4. The cottage was comfortable and clean, and fitted out with everything we needed. The owners are very kind, quiet but friendly and provide gifts of home grown food, cider and crepes throughout the stay - lovely! The area is very rural and the roads quiet. We took bikes and found we could cycle safely with our 11 and 13 year olds. It is a lovely way to see the surrounding countryside. You can also cycle easily to several beaches and my husband usually cycled to get our morning croissants! Very good patisseries everywhere. The location is ideal for visiting many beaches and market towns (you could go to a different market every day), the Granite Coast is a couple of hours away and the Isle de Brehat is close. Paimpol remains our favourite town and Palus beach our favourite beach. The only downside of the property for us was that it is not very private as you share the garden with the owners and we would have preferred a garden of our own. However the kids liked this as the owners’ grandchildren played with them, so maybe there’s something for everyone. We would have liked a wood burning stove or some form of heating - it got a bit chilly some evenings and the central heating was not switched on. In all it was a great holiday though and we would go back again to this area. July 2011.

  6. The owners of this property were very hospitable. On our arrival there was milk, juice and water in the fridge. Throughout our stay we were given home grown vegetables and cider and our children treated to a tractor ride. The property was well situated and could be very comfortable if some improvements made. July 2009.
