The property provides ground floor sleeping accommodation with twin bedrooms and a bathroom for guests wishing to avoid stairs. The area of North Norfolk is a haven for wildlife, with excellent walking and bird watching amid the nearby salt marshes and sand dunes, a must for any enthusiast. Lavender Cottage is centrally located to explore Norfolk’s amazing coastline and attractions and the popular seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea is 2 miles with an excellent wide sandy beach, picturesque fishing port (great for crabbing, fresh shell fish) and town centre with many excellent bistro inns, cafes, restaurants and shops. Holkham Hall and an excellent sandy beach backed by pine trees are 6 miles. Boat trips are available to the seal colony, RSPB and nature reserves at Morson Harbour. Bustling villages including Blakeney Quay, the historical market town of Holt, and Burnham Market are an easy drive. The medieval village of Walsingham (2 miles) is rich in archaeological treasures, historical and religious interests whilst Wells and Walsingham light railway is well worth a visit. The Norfolk Coastal Path offers excellent rambling opportunities, and is an invigorating way to see Norfolk’s smooth green belt. Shops and pub 2 miles.

  1. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was very comfortable and easily fitted 4 generations of our family with the downstairs bedrooms, bathroom and toilet being especially useful for the partially disabled great grandmother. We loved the large well equipped kitchen with the huge dining table that allowed us all to sit together. Upstairs bedrooms were all very spacious and well appointed. Lots of outside furniture and a lovely covered verandah meant we spent a lot of time sitting outside. A very large enclosed garden allowed us to safely play games and no worry about our dog. The rural location was very peaceful and it is only a short car journey to Wells-next-the-Sea, the seal trips at Morston and the excellent farm shop at Walsingham. Would highly recommend this property, it has a lovely family feel to it. Sept 2012.
  2. We had a wonderful family holiday at Lavender cottage with plenty to do for all ages. Our family ages ranged from 10months to 58 we also had 2 dogs. There was plenty to do for everyone. Local beaches where we could take the dogs who thoroughly enjoyed themselves places like Hunstanton and Wells with the shops and amusements. The house was beautiful and well equipped including beach toys which was a lovely touch. The locals had a friendly hello when you saw them. Sept 2011.

  5. A lovely cottage, bigger than it appears on the webpage, and very comfortable. Owners very helpful and nice. A little more off-the-beaten-track than we expected. Good for kids- ours loved the pet rabbits and climbing frame. March 2011.
