Property Description

With a cosy open fire this cottage was once home to the famous Stone Carver Skylark Durston, his work can be seen throughout. From the garden wonderful coastal and sea views can be enjoyed. Portland Bill lighthouse is just a mile walk, which then leads on to wonderful coastal footpaths and further to Chesil beach. It’s a great holiday base for sea/fishing, windsurfing, diving and sailing. Bustling Weymouth is 6 miles away. Sealife Park and Marine Sanctuary, Monkey World and Bovington Tank museum are all easily accessible. Shop 1 mile, pub 50 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Open tread spiral stairs to first floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, 2 steps up to 1 single.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Digital TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. No smoking.

  1. This was an excellent property. Well maintained, spacious living space, lovely garden, and minutes from the walking paths along the coast. Perfect place for a dog, as well, and a very quiet location. The owners keep it well maintained and gave easy-to-follow instructions. They even left tea and a bottle of wine to welcome us to Larkrise. Would definitely stay here again. Dec 2011.

  11. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. A very well presented cottage, nice size rooms, for self catering all your requirements were met, freezer, cooker, toaster, fridge, washing machine, tumble drier. Lovely views, and lovely neighbours. Sept 2009.

  13. The cottage was well situated for local walks and very close to the local pub. It didn’t take long to get to Weymouth and out along the coast. The garden had a full size deck making it very usable for sitting out. July 2009.
  14. Very close to public footpath that leads to beautiful coastal walks to Portland Bill. Opposite a dog friendly pub that serves excellent food as well. June 2009.

  18. We loved the cottage it was so comfy and cosy, much nicer than others i have visited, we were so relaxed! Although very cold weather! We had some lovely coastal walks. Nice touch to recive a welcome pack on arrival, great friendly pub next door where our dog was made a fuss of and fun kareoke night to boot! As soon as we got back we rebooked to return! Jan 2009.
