  1. Excellent location for exploring Northumberland and for catching the train to Edinburgh. Aug 2011.
  2. A lovely cottage, farmer was really great & showed my son the baby lambs he has told everyone about them. A great place for a quiet break in the countryside. May 2011.
  3. A real home from home with a friendly, helpful and welcoming owner. Lovely views from the windows all round. Oct 2010.
  4. Nice and homely. Well equipped with everything you need. Helpful and friendly. Have visited on two occasions now. Oct 2010.
  5. Homely, just perfect. Aug 2010.
  6. Very quiet and remote, although within easy traveling distance of facilities. June 2010.
  7. Cottage was cosy, plentiful supply of logs, coal and kindling wood to light a fire in the evening. April 2010.
  8. We liked the open fire and the seclusion, not near main road and no light pollution so we could see the stars. Oct 2009.
  9. Berryhill Farm is close to the Ford and Etal estate villages, with excellent shops/post offices/cafes, public houses (good food), a castle, art gallery, steam railway, bakery, footpaths, cycle ways - a superb location. Aug 2009.
  10. It provided more homely touches and basic items such as washing up liquid were already present which is a big help and I think should be mandatory for all holiday cottages. July 2009.
  11. Fantastic views. Quiet and peaceful. Good location for Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. June 2009.
  12. The accommodation was comfortable and clean but in places in need of refurbishment. June 2009.
  13. Lapwing Cottage is a very comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Stunning views and excellent proximity to a whole variety of attractions (hills, coast, history etc, etc.) Local villages superlatively well-kept. March 2008.
  14. The cottage had a lovely homely feel to it, you felt part of the countryside form the moment you walked in. The owner was extremely helpful. I would recommend anyone to stay here, our two teenage children even enjoyed the laid back approach to life for a week. What a wonderful area of the country to visit. Aug 2008.
  15. Very good experience. July 2008.
  16. This is a beautiful location, and there are incredible views of the Cheviot Hills from the cottage. We had a warm welcome from the owner, and felt really at home and comfortable. There was nothing quite like the sight of the real coal fire which had already been lit for us, after several hours traveling through the snow on a February night! Northumberland is such a magical and unique area, with so much to explore - the weekend flew by, and we will definitely be back. March 2006.
