This comfortable semi-detached holiday accommodation, with a private enclosed garden, is set next to the owners’ property in a quiet village.

It boasts beams throughout, an open fire and a lounge that opens onto the terrace for summer dining. Visit the imperial town of Compiègne with its varied history, restaurants and shops, or spend a day at the Château of Chantilly.

Paris is easily reached on the train or the family amusement park of Parc Astérix is 50km away.

Shop and café/bar 200m, restaurant 9.5km.

Ground floor: Lounge/diner with double sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom with basin, separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin.

Gas central heating, open fire in lounge (wood at cost), all other fuel included in rent, initial 8kw of power included in rent, remainder by meter reading at end of stay, colour TV, washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, private enclosed lawned garden, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars. Sorry, no pets. NB: Step to entrance. Steep stairs to first floor.

  1. We wanted a quiet location and it was. Parking is off road and the owner kindly let us use his outbuilding to store our 2 bikes and tandem. Open countryside with mostly sugar beet, a bit like Norfolk. Lovely quiet area for cycling although we did visit in Sep which is harvest time. Nice to be able to walk to a bar which is just around the corner. The bath has a telephone shower so a bit basic and there is a need to be careful with its adjustment for temperature. Shame the toilet wasn’t in the bathroom. Nevertheless, we had a lovely break. Our French has improved too. We are tempted to return next year. Sept 2011.
  2. Cosy cottage, very clean and well equipped. The bathroom would benefit from a proper shower. Liked the fact that it was in its own self contained grounds and well placed in the middle of the village with easy acess to the shop and excellent bakery. Oct 2010.
  3. Boulangerie, patisserie, pharmacy and bar very close. Rail links to Paris within 8 miles. Premises well presented and clean and large enough for the 3 of us. Close to local amenities. Aug 2009.
  4. Very rural and quiet area. Very friendly owner and good information provided your French is up to it!!!! Great if you have a young family. July 2008.
  5. A very quite location, ideal for older couples. Central for touring and only a short journey by car or rail to Paris. June 2007.
  6. Very clean and comfortable. Lacked many kitchen utensils, but you can manage on what is there. Lovely home, warm, lovely big garden area and barbecue. Well situated for visiting many places of interest in the area, including Disneyland, Asterix Parc, Chantilly Chanteau, Pierrefont, Amiens etc. Lovely base to travel from. April 2008.

  8. In a quite rural location but that was the charm. Owner was friendly; he had a fire going for our arrival and gave us chocolates and champagne for new years eve. Dec 2008.

  10. The property was in a typical French village, which was ideal as we had a chance to mix with the locals which we thought was excellent. June 2006.
