Property Description

This wonderful centuries-old barn has been carefully converted to create two character eco-friendly holiday cottages with their own patios, giving stunning views over open farm and hills. Situated on the edge of Kendal, a historic market town famous for its mint cake, the location is perfect to tour the Lake District (Windermere 9 miles) and Yorkshire Dales (Sedbergh 9 miles). Water sports or cruises on the lakes, mountain climbing in the Langdales and coastal walks on the Cumbrian Coastal Way are just a few of the many activities to be enjoyed in the area. There is a plethora of historic houses and gardens with Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and Cartmel 12th-century priory all a short drive away. Shops 1 mile, pub 500 yards.

  15. A beautifully equipped cottage created from a stone barn. All mod cons and installed to a high standard. This single bedroom cottage was relatively compact and fairly dark due to the Local Planning Department not permitting larger windows than were originally in the barn. However, this did not detract in any way from our enjoyment of staying in the cottage. June 2010.

The cottage was very clean and modern, superbly decorated and very luxurious, the location was slightly remote but within easy reach of Kendal which is walkable (approx 1.5miles), and the main road nearby was great for traveling to Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere and many more fab areas of the Lake District. The cottage had lovely views and was fully equipped with kitchen utensils, towels etc. A fully exceptional stay really enjoyed it and we hope to return soon! March 2010.
