Property Description

In a quiet location on the edge of the seaside village of Rockcliffe and with views to the Solway Firth, this detached holiday cottage provides a peaceful retreat. This is an area popular with walkers and cyclists, with the Dalbeattie ‘7 Stanes’ close by. Activities include sailing, swimming, riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and watersports. The Solway Coast has beaches and rocky coves to explore, and historical sites and castles to visit. Kirkcudbright, the artists’ town, has art galleries, antique shops, museums and shops while Castle Douglas, Scotland’s ‘Food Town’, is a market town with many local foods available. Shops ½ mile, pubs and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor. Living room with patio doors and sofa bed. Kitchen with wooden floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Electricity heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Digital TV. Video. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

  3. A very comfortable and cosy cottage. The owners left a welcome pack of wine, tea, coffee, eggs etc, which was very thoughtful. The large garden is lovely and is ideal for dog owners as it is secure. Treat your dog against ticks before coming to this area though as they are rife. We will definitely be visiting Lanbe again. June 2012.

  6. Lovely comfortable dog friendly cottage. The garden is superb, we had all the spring flowers out, bluebells etc. Good views out towards the Solway Firth. Well stocked bird feeders in the garden we had woodpeckers and a red squirrel visit! The welcome pack was much appreciated. All in all a very enjoyable stay. May 2011.
  7. Owner left so many complimentary items I couldn’t list them all. Cleaning stuff, tea, coffee etc, soap, t--rolls. Best cottage I’ve been in and we have been to a lot. Great location for walkers, visits etc. Great garden for dogs. Will definitely go back. March 2011.

If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
