Property Description

Just a short walk from the pretty village centre of Vers-Pont-du-Gard, and bordered on one side by oak woods, this property is ideal for adventurous children with all facilities right at hand. This delightfully spacious villa has a private heated pool great for enjoying a swim throughout the cooler months, which is lit at night perfect for nice evening ambiance, and a large Mediterranean garden with olive trees and lavender. Comfortably furnished in warm and modern colours, the bathroom opens out onto the terrace, so you can gaze at the stars whilst surrounded by bubbles and fragrant candles on the warm summer evenings. 3km away is a river for swimming and canoeing. It is a 60km drive down to the clean sandy Mediterranean beach resorts. It also possible to fly to Montpellier, Marseille or Avignon airports to reach this property, as well as Nîmes.

  1. This was an enjoyable holiday -- Helen could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Having done many villa holidays in France, I can assure you that this is not always the case with local owners. The villa is tricky to find, but is quiet and comfortable. Needs at least one more sun bed round the pool and a couple more fans in lounge and 2nd/3rd bedroom. Otherwise happy experience. July 2012.

  3. La Voie Romaine is a quiet property next to a wood. We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing holiday. The boulangerie is in the village and is walkable. There are many dining options at the property. The wildlife is interesting. The guardian is very friendly, thoughtful and attentive and small problems were sorted very quickly. The Pont du Gard is a few miles away and there are 2 supermarkets, a 15 minute drive away. There is a small pizzeria in the village and other local restaurants within a short drive. Uzes has a delightful market. June 2012.

  7. This was a wonderful holiday home with a really well equipped kitchen making life very easy. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there was security fencing around the swimming pool - great when you have kids. Helen was a very hospitable owner and made us feel very welcome. April 2011.
  8. The situation, near a pleasant and interesting village, but quietly located at a short distance from it, in a pretty garden. The furnishings were pleasant, cheerful but unobtrusive, the equipment perfect, and the caretaker was as kind helpful and welcoming (and informal) as anyone could possibly be. Sept 2010.

  11. A spacious well furnished property with a modern kitchen containing virtually all you would need for a holiday lifestyle. A good quality, easy-to-use charcoal barbecue was used every day. The gardens were surrounded by trees and shrubs providing seclusion from the road and neighbours, and ensuring both security and privacy. The heated outdoor pool was only a few steps from the house and had the benefit of good security fencing and a safety-lock on the access gate. The owners daughter, Helen, provided excellent helpful advice on arrival and was also available during our stay if we required her assistance (we did not, as nothing went wrong !). May 2010.

  14. This was a lovely house with very comfortable accommodation throughout. TV, satellite and wi-fi would have been great assets if the weather had been poor. Kitchen very well stocked with electrical appliances, kitchenware, crockery etc. Basic foodstuffs e.g salt, tea, olive oil etc were supplied and much appreciated (and would be very welcome at all properties). Mediterranean garden had many different places to sit to stay in the shade. Upstairs bedroom hot at night and fan would be appreciated. Fan in downstairs bedroom. We really enjoyed this house and would certainly go back again. We think its the best house we’ve stayed in in all our 24 years of holiday houses in France. Helen could not have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay. July 2009.
