1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

Set in 200 acres of stunning woodland with panoramic views, La Grande Roche is named after the large rocks which provide a perfect backdrop to the two properties within its grounds. The private grounds provide a perfect place to explore the extensive woodland with a river and lake for private fishing (must be requested at time of booking, €70pw including licence). There is a large games room and a swimming pool with a terrace for relaxing with a glass of wine. La Grande Roche is located in a small hamlet only 3km from Mortain with its historic abbey. Vire, with its shops and market, is a 20-minute drive; further afield (one hour’s drive) are the Normandy beaches. For sandy beaches, both Granville and Carolles are within easy driving distance and offer a typical French seaside resort atmosphere. From Granville, boat trips to beautiful Mont St Michel can be taken. A trip not be missed is Bayeux - famous for its tapestry as well as many interesting shops and museums. A perfect holiday location.

For us, it is the position of the house, the surrounding grounds and the size of the house that keep us coming back. Always somewhere new to go, or just relaxing around the property.   9. The size and distribution of rooms was excellent especially the number of bathrooms and the games room etc; we appreciated the sky and broadband. It would not have been suitable for young children or disabled as the steep narrow steps were unavoidable with no stair gates and this was not clear from the brochure. There is a long stoney drive. The place has a lot going for it- we loved the rural locations and took full advantage of the indoor and outdoor facilities. Aug 2009.
  10. This is the ideal property for older children as there is plenty of space inside and out for running about and letting off steam. The barn next door is set up with badminton and table tennis in case it rains, as well as a fully fitted games room with a multi-gym and full size snooker table. You need to pay extra for exclusive use of the fishing lake, but if you are into fishing it is worth it as it is well stocked with carp. Bring bikes if you can as there are some great cycle trails accessible from the property. May 2009.
  11. This property is wonderful, it rained for the week we were there but the size and location of the site made the rain very bearable and enjoyable. Highly recommended for large families. Would love to stay there in the good weather. July 2008.
