A spacious, renovated farmhouse with a feature fireplace, exposed beams and stone walls. Guests have the use of a shared swimming pool with the house next door. There is a private garden area to the front of the property which has a 2 metre high fence to one side providing additional privacy.

The village of La Chapelle St Jean is close to Hautefort, home to one of Dordognes most famous Châteaux where you also find shops, restaurants, a supermarket, and ‘Etang de Coucou’, a swimming/fishing lake.

Perigueux, Montignac, Les Eyzies and the Dordogne valley are all within 60km. Many of the local villages have weekly markets, one of the most popular is at Terrasson, approximately 20 km away. Can be booked with W12267 for groups of up to 12.

Shop, café/bar and restaurant 4km.

Ground floor: Lounge/diner, kitchen. First floor: Shower room with 2 basins, separate toilet, 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 2 twin.

Electric heating, open fire in lounge, all fuel and power included in rent, bed linen and towels included in rent, colour TV, CD player, washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, lawned garden, patio, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 1 car. Sorry, no pets.

  1. A very nice spacious property, in a lovely quiet location, the pictures on the web site not really giving the full beauty of the location. The owner is very friendly and on his daily visit to clean the pool in the evening would often ask us to taste his latest locally produced beverage. If you want a relaxing holiday away from it all then this is for you, although there are local attractions not too far away, Hautefort Chateau, Caves, and especially recommended is "L’Appel de la Forêt" 15 mins away, which I can only describe as an adventure park through the tree tops which the kids (and myself) enjoyed a lot.   3. It was a fantastic property, perfectly clean and well supplied including a dishwasher and washing machine which was a godsend with a 3 year old and a 10 month old. The house was in a lovely location and was brilliant for anyone seeking peace and quiet whilst being near good facilities and travel routes. The owner was really helpful and the pool couldn’t have been cleaner! Aug 2010.

  5. The setting was lovely, the space in the gite was excellent particularly the downstairs rooms. The garden was smallish and shared but there was private space at the back. The pool was smallish but still great fun. The host was very friendly. We loved it. July 2010.
