This renovated detached farmhouse stands in the grounds of an unoccupied manoir dating back to the 16th century and benefits from full use of the entire gardens and lake. Inside there is a fitted kitchen and separate utility, and a vast lounge with original beams and wooden floor. In addition to the two bedrooms upstairs, there is a separate area off the staircase where a fifth person can sleep. The charming French owners live just up the road, and in the village there are all the essential services. The sandy beach at La Normandelière is 18km, whilst the famous resort of Les Sables d’Olonne is 28km.

Shop, café/bar and restaurant 1km, beach 30km.

Ground floor: Lounge, dining room, kitchen, utility room, separate toilet and basin, 1 single bedroom. First floor: Bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and basin, 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin.

Electric heating, open fire in lounge, all fuel and power included in rent May to Aug, €30 supplement Apr and Sep, bed linen and towels included in rent, colour TV, DVD player, radio, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, private lawned garden, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 3 cars. Sorry, no pets. NB: 2 steps to the entrance. Lake 250m from the property.

  1. Great for nature lovers with bird and animal life, very quiet and secluded location. Beautiful grounds. Not too far from beaches and towns. Aug 2011.
  2. The cottage was in a very quiet setting, with access to the gardens of the neighbouring chateau. We were delighted to see heron, kingfishers, red squirrels, hare and deer from our window. The cottage itself was light and airy and very well equipped, with lots of character. Sept 2010.
  3. Property is exceedingly quiet and has a very large garden/grounds. If you want to get away from it all, this fits the bill. However, it’s only a 2 min drive to the main road and a supermarket, the coast and the village of Apremont with 3 good restaurants are all within easy access. Sept 2010.

  5. The property was great, nice modern kitchen, large separate dining room and very spacious lounge. The real bonus was the garden it is huge and has its own large lake and 3 small ponds which were home to great number of frogs. The grounds were fantastic and it was lovely to sit out there in the evening listening to the sounds of the birds and frogs very tanquil. May 2010.
  6. Location could not be faulted.Great views of the Manior and lake from front door. Lots of wildlife on lake and the grounds. Lots of places to bike and walk to local bar/restaunt 10 mins away with great food. A great place if you want peace and quite but with the husle and busel of a seaside town 25 mins away. Sept 2009.
  7. Superb quiet rural location with every convenience if your looking for a relaxing holiday, but close enough to the beaches that we managed to visit everyone on the coast line. The grounds of this property have to be seen, they are so tranquil, always something to watch, red squirrels, cuckoos & golden orioles.This holiday was one of the best we have had in France. May 2009.
