Property Description

La Cachette is a charming apartment in an old town house in the heart of this beautiful village. The large panoramic roof terrace has one of the most famous views of this area, overlooking terracotta rooftops, the church tower and the Luberon Valley. The apartment has a chic, uncluttered style with a modern corner kitchen and a living/dining room with sliding patio doors which open onto the furnished terrace. Shop for warm bread and croissants for breakfasts, stroll out to bars and restaurants or take the car and explore some of the beautiful Luberon villages right on your doorstep.

Location: In the Luberon National Park, (vineyards, forests, ruined castles, Roman remains), 12km SW of Apt (Saturday market), 28km NE of Aix-en-Provence, 35km E of Avignon.

  1. Second visit: lovely apartment for a couple - excellent local food, or a kitchen good enough to cook in; and the view is unbeatable. Sept 2012.
  2. Location for exploring the Luberon is excellent. Facilities are good, including a full oven and hob; the roof terrace is particularly attractive with a wonderful view. Parking ia available without any real difficulty on the street. There is an excellent boulangerie and a well-stocked mini-market nearby (including local fruit, olive oil and wines). Restaurants in Bonnieux are Michelin class (but not over-priced -- we recommend L’Arôme - 2 rue Lucien Blanc). Although we do not meet the owner or keyholder, everything was as stated (with the bonus that the owners trust the tenants sufficiently not to demand a deposit). July 2012.

  4. Absolutely beautiful apartment, in a lovely village. Everything there that could be possibly needed, plus radio now included though we didn’t have the need to use it. Terrace and views wonderful. Would love to return - a week simply wasn’t enough! Sept 2011.

  6. The property was very nice, really well located in the village. Outside the house door is a restaurant, local shop, art gallery and bits n bobs shop. The village it is set in has everything you’d need and is really beautiful. Within the apartment there’s no tv which is fine (though would be handy for weather reports!) but it would probably benefit from a radio/cd player - fortunately we brought our own. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed and the bathroom was decent. The roof-terrace is really nice and has stunning views of the local area. June 2010.
  7. The views are delightful. The property is extremely well kept. If you want to keep in touch with the news it may be worth taking a radio - there is no tv, but we like to have some access to French media! Aug 2008.
  8. The apartment provides a perfect space and location for a couple, while the view from the terrace is superb. The village itself, without being crowded, is large enough to provide ample choices of restaurant and a great base for touring around the area. Aug 2006.
