Sun loungers and garden furniture is provided around the sunny swimming pool (11m x 4.8m). Close to the little village of La Bastide which has a restaurant, bakery and grocery shop at hand. For nature lovers, ramblers and cyclists the area is ideal, especially for Delta plane enthusiasts where there is a special club and instruction class offered at the nearby village of Rogue Eslapon.

Close to Castellane and the Route Napolean, visitors are spoilt for excursions as the Gorges du Verdon and the Lake Ste. Croix make excellent day trips. Climbers can experience mapped out routes, or simply relax by the pool and take it easy.

Ground floor: Lounge, dining room, kitchen, second lounge, utility room, 2 bathrooms, both with shower over bath, toilet and basin. First floor: Shower room with toilet and basin, bathroom with toilet and basin, 5 bedrooms: 4 double, 1 plus single bed, 1 twin, all with en-suite basin and bidet.

Full central heating, open fire in lounge (initial supply of fuel provided), all other fuel at cost, power included in rent Jul and Aug, €80 supplement Sep to June, cot, colour satellite TV, DVD player, stereo/CD player, washing machine, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, patio, outdoor furniture, barbecue, ample off road parking. Sorry, no pets. NB: There are steep drops around the property, please take care with young children.

  1. Lovely large chalet style villa. More than big enough for the 6 of us. Beautiful decor. It would have been better if en-suite rooms were fitted with toilets, although there were plenty of bathrooms. Some toilet seats were missing. We would have welcomed instruction for the pool alarm, TV and DVD player and internet access in English. Andre, caretaker, spoke very little English. Likewise our French. We ate most meals on site. The oven was very inconvenient - too small and too high on wall for safe use. Linen hire was expensive, but necessary to avoid carrying linen in our luggage. Friendly but very small village. We are pleased we hired a car at Nice airport to get us around. Apart from these small niggles we had a very enjoyable holiday in lovely surroundings. Would someone please tell the owner of those noisy dogs in the village to keep them quiet. June 2011.

  3. The villa was very secluded and spacious both inside and outside. There was ample room for us all - 6 adults and 3 children and the children had plenty of space in which to play. The garden and pool were great and there were masses of kitchen utensils, crockery etc. July 2010.

  5. Excellent property for a large group looking for a quiet getaway with fine scenery. One hour to the Riviera coast. Good quality fixtures and fittings. Spacious and well appointed. Lovely pool and gardens. July 2009.
