Situated in the heart of Tipperary’s famed Valley of Slievenamon, King’s River Cottage makes an excellent base for visitors wishing to tour the south eastern part of Ireland. Surrounded by quiet country lanes the cottage is ideal for pet owners, walkers and cyclists. The towns of Cashel, Clonmel, Kilkenny and Thurles are just 30 minutes away, and the local villages of Mullinahone, Ballingarry and Callan all have well stocked shops, supermarkets and pubs. King’s River Cottage is adjacent to the owner’s home and overlooks an enclosed patio rear yard. To the front the cottage has a full sized tennis court and large landscaped gardens. Possible day trips include Kilkenny Castle, The Rock of Cashel, Swiss Cottage, Jerpoint Abbey, Mount Juliet, Kilcooley Abbey, Tramore Beach, Waterford and Cork. Bus, rail and taxi services are also available locally. Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Balcony/reading area.

Oil central heating and electricity €40per week. Bed linen and towels included. CD. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Shared garden with patio and furniture. Ample parking. Tennis court. No smoking.

Was made to feel extremely welcome by the owners and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only wish that I had booked 2 weeks, as a week was insufficient. Certainly looking to return later in the year and have recommended the cottage to family & friends. Overall a fantastic holiday. May 2012.

  3. The cottage was lovely and just what we needed for ourselves and our 2 little dogs. We were not aware that the pubs in Ireland do not often provide meals. The pubs around the cottage are very rural, don’t open the same times as in the UK and don’t have food available. However, the locals are really friendly and they all made us really welcome. May 2011.
  4. This is an excellent holiday home with a very warm welcoming family who put themselves out for your comfort. It is very private although the holiday home is adjacent to the owner’s own home. It is very rural although central to many lovely locations such as Swiss Cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage and would certainly consider hiring it again. April 2011.
