The holiday cottage has an upstairs living room to benefit from the lovely views and a spacious, modern kitchen/dining room. Situated in quiet countryside close to Bassenthwaite lake, there are wonderful walks and cycle routes from the door, with sailing available on the lake and a storage shed for bikes. Keswick with all its shops, pubs and restaurants, and Derwentwater for watersports are just 6 miles away. The Georgian market town of Cockermouth is 7 miles away. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Ground floor: Dining room/kitchen with beams. 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and toilet, 1 twin. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Living room with beams.

Wood pellet central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. Video. DVD and small library. Stereo/CD. Gas cooker. Microwave. Washing machine.   1. The cottage is ideally located and well equipped. Kitchen is very spacious and the beds comfortable. The owners are also very helpful. The setting makes for a very relaxing holiday. Sept 2011.
  2. The owner left us some eggs & milk and a packet of very nice biscuits which we thought was a very nice gesture and helpful as there wasn’t a shop nearby. The property had two bedrooms and two bathrooms which was great for two couples. There were nice views from the cottage. Car parks in the area were expensive and so were a number of restaurants so the Lake District is not a cheap place to visit. July 2011.
  3. Good accommodation, spacious and clean. Very comfortable other than the sofas which we did mention to the owners, who have positively responded. Great location to get to many walks, great local pubs Sun Inn and The Snooty Fox for food and drinks and they allow dogs. Derwent water sports great and reasonable. Keswick, Ambleside and Grassmere our favourite places. Windemere also very nice for a day out. Not so keen on Cockermouth. We would definitely book the cottage again and will return in the near future. May 2011.

  7. It was within walking distance of the pub, near good easy walks and car was off the road. Also liked the fact it was very doggy friendly. Owner even left some doggy biscuits. Nice touch. Nov 2010.
  8. It was a very warm cottage, plenty of room, big kitchen and excellent equipment for cooking, but as our friends keep the SUN INN we ate out every night, and the views from the upstairs was wonderful, and we also had superb weather. May 2010.
  9. A traditional lakeland cottage, but with good standard of modern features within the accommodation, a fully stocked kitchen with more than enough utensils, and plenty of reading matter, after exploring the fantastic outdoors. Feb 2010.

  19. Extremely well appointed property in an excellent location. A pleasing welcome from the owner. We were surprised and pleased to find DVD’S and many books including books by Wainwright that I referred to for some of my walks. The cottage is very much a home from home but in a lovely location! The facilities are excellent including a washing machine and 2 toilets/shower rooms for added convenience. Dec 2008.
