Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent loation, great accommodation. Sept 2012.
  2. A cracking place with wonderful quirky features. The herd of deer walking past the bedroom window made our day. March 2012.
  3. House is lovely and was very clean. Felt it was a little tired inside though and could be freshened up. Great location, with nice walks on you doorstep in the woods or out and about in the area. Hereford and Ross on Wye are both 10 mins away as is Ledbury. Feb 2012.
  4. Brilliant get away property but within reach of lots to do. The villagers were lovely and you must try the butchers. Waking up in the morning and seeing deer in the surrounding forest was amazing. It was so good we were back 2 days and have booked for next year for two weeks instead of one this time. We have been holidaying with welcome cottages for 5 years know and this is the best property we have ever been to. You must make a visit. Oct 2011.
  5. The outside of the cottage was enchanting with lovely views and interesting surrounding woodland. Inside there was ample space for 5 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and a dog. The bedding and towels were clean and the showers were very good. We did find that all the rooms could have done with a coat of paint to freshen them up and although we did try to use the hoover prior to leaving we were unable to as it had a strong odour of wet dog. Oct 2011.
  6. In the most beautiful setting, a great place for family get togethers. We lovingly called it the lion the witch and wardrobe house, as there were so many nookes and crannies. Lovely large kitchen and the aga was great for cooking on. Great for walking and fishing. Sept 2011.
  7. Very comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a beautiful location. Direct access to the woods from the back gate - brilliant for the dogs! Sept 2011.
  8. Lovely quirky cottage with amazing views and well placed, 15min walk into Fownhope where there are 2 lovely pubs and a village shop. Large, well equipped kitchen with lovely aga. Good sized bedrooms with one of the twin rooms in the basement where it’s a bit cooler. Sept 2011.
  9. Good location and fine views. It was mostly clean and very comfortable. Well equipped for a holiday cottage. Hard to get the dog to leave the Aga! I wish there had been some gardening tools, I would have spent a few hours pruning the garden. April 2011.
  10. Beautiful cottage, very well appointed with a far greater range, and quality of fixture and fittings then any other cottage I have stayed in. The location is fantastic, just outside the village and on the edge of the woods, which give fantastic walks, our collie loved the space in the cottage and all the walks, even if he like us wasn’t used to the hills! All in all, by far the best cottage I have ever stayed in. March 2011.
  11. The kitchen was super and well stocked. The caretaker (MIranda Bottle and her husband, Chris, mega helpful. Superior views. Good bed linen. Excellent TV and games, etc. Jan 2011.
  12. This cottage provided ample space for eight people to enjoy a weeks stay. We had one infant of 22 months who found it fascinating and we considered it safe for her use. The kitchen facilities were fine (except for no coffee making machine) and the aga ensured warmth at all times even though we arrived in the coldest spell of weather this year! The library of books would have stocked a local public library! Nov 2010.
  13. Everything about this property was excellent. It was immaculate throughout with great attention to detail. I have stayed in many cottages over the years and this really was the best to date. Nov 2010.
  14. The property had bags of character, was beautifully kept and equipped. The garden opened directly onto woodland, and we were surrounded by wildlife. Idyllic. Oct 2010.
  15. It is like a cottage from a fairy story. The children loved it, all the little nooks and crannies, the adults loved the kitchen area, the garden and especially and the view. Oct 2010.
  16. Only comment would be to have one or two table / standard lamps in lounge area so you don’t have to have main light on. I think this comment was put in the comments book. Oct 2010.
  17. Felt at home from the moment we arrived, so peaceful, superb location. The cottage had everything we needed and we had a relaxing time and saw plenty of wildlife. We love to go back. Sept 2010.
  18. A lovely peaceful and spacious property with a good view and nice woodland walks adjacent to the garden. Aug 2010.
  19. The location was excellent with views towards the Wye Valley. It was a real get away from it all property with plenty of peace & quiet. July 2010.
  20. We could not think of anything that was missing, it had the lot, even down to a ball of string! Great setting. July 2010.
