These 4 quality and characterful barn conversions are set in striking ’White Peak’ scenery and each enjoys one of the most breathtaking views in the Peak Park, across to the jagged and dramatic Crome Edge, to Axe Edge and down to the pretty stone built village of Earl Sterndale. Three of the properties (refs 10847, 10848 and 10849) are single-storey properties, whilst Jerusalem Cottage (ref 9603), 120 yards from the other properties, is a 4 level conversion which features a galleried bedroom, split-level living room and a quality kitchen. Their creative conversion has given the properties individual charm with old stone arches, high vaulted ceilings and some original beams and some are suited to partially disabled guests (Harebell (10848) has 4 steps up to the front door but also has level access). There are simply lovely walks to the edges across the valley, with Hartington, Dovedale and Bakewell an easy drive, and the cultural spa town of Buxton 4 miles. Climbing at the Roaches, 5 miles, and Froggatt, caves at Castleton, Chatsworth and Alton Towers all under 25 minutes drive. The holiday properties may be booked together for larger families. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

We had a wonderful break in March the weather helped as it was the hottest week.The cottage had everything we needed a real home from home it was located near all the walks we wanted to do plus some we hadn’t planned on so many places to visit and not enough time will certainly go back. We especially loved the Castleton walk beautiful sights from the top of Man Tor. March 2012.
  2. One of the best things is the view of some local steep and jagged hills. There are plenty of details regarding local walks and we did most of them. The cottage is very prettily decorated with wall patterns and crockery to match! Very comfortable. A really good week. Feb 2012.

  9. This property has a really good view - you would never know that there are quarries nearby: they just are not visible. It is nicely furnished, has space for 2 people to relax after being in the open-air, plenty of room for the car and a very helpful property owner. Unfortunately there is now no shop in the village and the pub is a bit basic. However, there are good eating places in neighbouring villages and there are supermarkets in Buxton. May 2010.
