Ivy Cottage

| Ref: 29476
Grade 4 Star rating

This pretty mid terraced holiday cottage has been lovingly restored to provide all the comforts one needs whilst at the same time retaining all of its charm and character. Period features which have been retained included stained glass windows and fireplace with log burning stove. The cottage offers well-proportioned and comfortable accommodation for 4 people with its cosy lounge and second reception room with dining space and reading area. Located in the small village of Heapey, Ivy Cottage enjoys a semi-rural position and is surrounded by peaceful countryside which is criss-crossed with a multitude of well used and well signed public footpaths providing access to the beautiful West Pennine moors and the picturesque areas of Anglezarke, White Coppice and Rivington. The area is also very popular with cyclists both on and off road cycling (Bradley Wiggins’ training area!). Other popular activities in the area include bird watching, horse riding and coarse fishing. The village of Wheelton is 11/2 miles away and has 3 pubs as well as a convenience store, fish and chip shop and beauticians. There is also a restaurant within 11/2 miles. A wider range of amenities can be found in the market town of Chorley which is just 3 miles away. Other towns and cities within a short driving distance include Blackburn, 6 miles, Preston, 8 miles, and Manchester and the Trafford Centre, 25 miles, including Chill Factor and Airkix Indoor Skydiving. For those who don’t wish to drive into Manchester, there are trains from Chorley train station every 30 minutes. Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park which offers a good selection of shops and restaurants as well as cinema and bowling is within a 15-minute drive. Ideally located for all that the north west has to offer, places of interest locally include Ribble Valley andd Forest of Bowland AONB (30 miles), and Lancaster, 30 miles.
