Oozing charm and character these two holiday cottages are set in a courtyard just off the main street. Boasting a quiet mezzanine reading area with vaulted beamed ceilings and wood burning stoves, the cottages are cozy with a warm and welcoming feel. Sawdon boasts a very popular village pub with restaurant and a 9 hole golf course surrounded by stunning countryside. With excellent walking and cycling from your door there is easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Dalby Forest, home to mountain bike events. Ideal for exploring the Heritage coast of Yorkshire with Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington easily accessed and the ancient sea port of Whitby approximately 18 miles. Castle Howard and market towns of Helmsley, Kirbymoorside and Pickering are all close by. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 150 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with beams/dining room. Kitchen with tiled floor. 1 double (5ft four poster) bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Steep open tread stairs to gallery: Reading room.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Shared garden. Shared barbecue. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. The cottage was outstanding and the welcome we got was lovely, milk home made bread and cake left in the cottage as a welcome gift. Very quiet and very out of the way for a relaxing holiday. Lovely fish and chip shop about 3 miles away and the fish was out of this world. Pub just past chip shop called the Denison Arms had excellent food, dont have a starter otherwise you won’t eat your main course, excellent value for money. If up that way again would definatly choose Ivy Cottage again. We have already booked with your company for 2013. June 2012.
  2. Ideal base for exploring the east coast & moors, most beaches have dog friendly areas - great for walking. Pub in village - fantastic food, will need to book. Cottage very comfortable, would return. May 2012.
  3. This delightful cottage is a real gem in a fantastic location. The owners have given a lot of attention to detail within the property. The cottage is a great base for both the coast and walks within the dales. The homemade bread and cake were a delight to begin our stay. We will definately visit again. Feb 2012.

  6. Ivy Cottage made for an excellent "home from home" experience for our holiday in North Yorks. Quietly situated in the small village of Sawdon, it provided an excellent base for our days out to the coast with our two dogs. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful, providing us with a welcome gift of homemade bread & scones, a pint of milk & a bottle of wine, most appreciated. Oct 2011.

  8. Ivy Cottage was just perfect for us. We had not stayed in a cottage before we usually stay in hotels and leave our dog at home. It was so lovely to have a cottage as nice as Ivy Cottage, be able to give our dog a holiday too (she loved it) and with really nice owners who instantly made us very welcome and were on call if there had been any problems. We spent every day out, arriving back about 5pm and had dinner later in the village pub (The Anvil Arms) where the food was excellent. April 2011.
