There is fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the lake on site (free for catch and return, £10 per fish retained). There is also free fishing for brown trout in the river Haddeo on site and coarse fishing nearby (information available from the owner). An excellent base for rural relaxation or touring, with the West Somerset steam railway easily accessible and the coast just 12 miles away. Local places of interest include Dunster Castle (NT), Wimbleball Lake and Porlock. Shops 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

I loved the "country" atmosphere, and even though there was a lot of rain, there was plenty of space in Hunts Barn for my grandson’s toys and everybody’s hobbies and books, so we never felt that we were "on top of one another". I would definitely recommend this property for an "across the generations" get-together. The accommodation was ideal for our family across four generations. My elderly mother did not have to negotiate any stairs - just a small step up from the car. My grandson (nearly two years) was able to run about safely indoors, and outside there were chickens and horses to visit for local amusements. Generous plumbing so nobody ever "inconvenienced". July 2009.
  8. The property is excellent in a great location however it lacks a bit of love and attention to detail. the beds were clean but the rooms have dust webs. A good clean is required. July 2009.
