Hudgill Farm Barn has been imaginatively converted into two characterful holiday homes which are peacefully located midway between Alston and Nenthead. Situated in a stunning rural position, with wonderful views, they stand just off the A689 road connecting Alston to Durham in the North Pennines, an AONB. The quaint market town of Alston, the highest in England, is 2 miles and is on the C2C cycle route and the Pennine Way hiking trail. This area is one of the least light polluted in Britain and star gazers will be enthralled. There are plenty of green lanes, tracks and bridle paths around the area and Hudgill is an ideal starting point for many cycle routes and hiking trails. Roe deer graze and hares box early in the morning, and bird watchers will enjoy spotting the large variety from the cottages. Penrith, the northern Lake District and Hadrian’s Wall are a short drive away. The Northumberland National Park, the Durham Dales, the historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge, plus the cities of Carlisle and Newcastle are within an easy drive. Refs 28037 and 28038 can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub ½ mile.
