Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The owner was very friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with the hot water which was sorted straight away for which we were grateful. The cottage is set next to a charming river and the delights of sitting in the conservatory and watching the wildlife go by and indeed visit for food was very good. The property is a little outdated and although each guest does a clean it could do with a more in depth clean. Great location for visits to the coast and Belgium and to the charming town of Saint Omer plus world War sites. Aug 2012.
  2. Although the property was a little dated it added to its charm. It was spotless and comfortable. Bridget, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. One can easily see why people return time and again. A hidden gem in a very interesting part of France. April 2012.
  3. The property was really good, it’s position excellent and the area was good for walking, visiting different areas but the highlight was the conservatory in which we spent our time there eating, relaxing and listening to music. March 2012.
  4. The cottage was warm and comfortable and beautifully located on the banks of the river. We saw boats, birds and ducks through the window and walking along the river was delightful. Madame was very welcoming and the complimentary wine and water was a lovely touch. The area was good for seeing some of the ’odder’ WW2 sites - the blockhouse at Eperlecques and Le Coupole are absolute ’must sees’ - and we enjoyed our day trip to Bruges. All in all, this is a very nice cottage in a lovely location. Not suitable for small children due to the proximity of the river and the numerous ’knicknacks’ in the cottage itself, but perfect for a couple with older kids or two couples. Oct 2011.
  5. Serenity is a lovely cosy little house in a wonderful position on the river. The owners are very helpful and lovely people. It is ideal for anyone wanting to "get away from it all" and totally relax. It is in an ideal area for days out sightseeing if thats what you want, but its just as nice reading in the conservatory and watching the world go by! May 2011.
  6. We have stayed at Serenity three times now, it is like home from home to us now! Feb 2011.
  7. Warm and cosy, with a lovely outlook and so peaceful. Oct 2010.
  8. Well equipped bungalow in a superb riverside position. Oct 2010.
  9. Clean and had everything we needed. Oct 2010.
  10. Typically French property, very comfortable with a great conservatory overlooking the river great for people watching whilst relaxing. July 2010.
  11. Exactly as advertised (no surprises) quiet area, lovely scenery, nice garden, well equipped. June 2010.
  12. The view from the conservatory was fantastic. The owners were very welcoming very, very clean and well equipped. April 2010.
  13. Very accurate in terms of where-abouts. March 2010.
  14. Serenity is a cosy, comfortable little cottage that you feel instantly at home in. On the whole it has everything you need for a relaxing break. March 2010.
  15. Nice property with everything required. Dec 2009.
  16. The gite was perfect in every way, the location, the cottage and was very well equipped. It had little finishing touches that made all the difference. The owner was lovely and very helpful. Oct 2009.
  17. The property was everything we hoped for it was in a perfect location very peaceful and not isolated. The cottage had everything that was needed for a good holiday. Sept 2009.
  18. Wonderful location overlooking the river. July 2009.
  19. This cottage is situated in a beautiful area with the nearest villages about 2 miles away (baker, butcher, supermarket, cafe’s, bars, restaurants). The cottage is well supplied with everything you could possibly need. The river is very busy at the weekend but very quiet throughout the week. The name "Serenity" fits perfectly - except when the neighbours son turns up his radio although his mother was very friendly and turned it down when asked. I would definately visit again. May 2009.
  20. Excellent location. So relaxing that there is no need to go out. Very well equipped. The location is fantastic. The owner was extremely welcoming. July 2009.
