Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A nice cosy cotage within pleasant grounds with friendly owners and within easy reach of many of the Peak Districts major attractions. Sept 2012.
  2. Fantastic base, dog friendly, very warm and cosy which was great for drying off when we returned on a daily basis from our walks in the good old english weather! Loved the wood burner and the Rayburn which we quickly got the hang of cooking in! The owners were friendly and close by if needed. Only small thing was not having a proper shower but this is in the details so we knew before hand. We’ve stayed in several holiday cottages and this is one of the best - really tastefully converted. April 2012.
  3. This was cottage was really comfortable - very warm and larger than the pictures suggested. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking for large numbers or small. The gardens are beautiful and there are lots of little hideaways and seating areas around the edges, which would be amazing on a summer’s evening. Absolutely loved it. You definitely need a car. March 2012.
  4. Orchard cottage is a beautifully cosy converted barn. It is perfect for a romantic break away. March 2012.
  5. Orchard Cottage was lovely, just what we wanted. Although it is next door to the main house the cottage felt remote and very very peaceful. Loved watching the hens running round the garden as we ate breakfast. The gardens are beautiful. Perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all particularly as there is no mobile phone coverage and no way for work to get hold of you! Feb 2012.
  6. A really beautiful little cottage next to the owners house. The cottage is within a short driving distance of most of Derbyshire’s attractions. We Really enjoyed spending time in the cottage and would love to go back someday. Jan 2012.
  7. We loved the cottage and the beautiful garden. Our dog had plenty of space in the fields to run around. The owners were very kind and helpful. The cottage itself is very well equipped and cosy. Cooking on the Rayburn was fun. The only thing missing was a stand-up shower. June 2011.
  8. A well-equipped and comfortable cottage. Kitchen is well-stocked with crockery and cooking utensils suitable for the Rayburn. Beautiful grounds; peaceful setting. Great location for Derbyshire tourist attractions, but don’t forget to see the sights of Sheffield too. June 2011.
  9. Situated in a remote area yet pubs and shops within a couple of miles. Beautiful grounds, peaceful and a good place to get away from everything. Feb 2011.
  10. It had a very well stocked kitchen, it had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner. It was very cosy, even without the fire on. The location is great for accessing the national park and is just lovely and quiet - despite the chickens! Dec 2010.
  11. An ideal get-away. Oct 2010.
  12. The quaintness and cosiness. May 2010.
  13. The cottage was lovely and the log burner made it so. It had every thing we needed in it and the rae burn cooker was great, we cooked every night. The cottage was really clean and the owners were really welcoming. March 2010.
  14. Clean and spacious. Oct 2009.
  15. The cottage is in an amazing location, it gives the illusion of being a hideaway, for rest or a romantic break, (added to by the log burner) but you are central to so many wonderfull places to visit or walk,Orchard cottage is so pretty, set in lovely grounds, with friendly chickens and friendly and helpful owners, would recommend this place readily.
