Property Description

These two delightful holiday cottages enjoy an idyllic setting, surrounded by trees and an abundance of wildlife, in six acres of shared grounds. Converted from former stable buildings, both cottages overlook the lake where herons, kingfishers and moorhens can be spotted, and benefit from views over the surrounding Kent farmland, each with its own patio from which the country air and unspoilt scenery can be enjoyed. This is a genuine rural haven, far from major roads and an excellent area for walkers, it is accessed along a farm road and has many good foot paths to explore. Within easy reach are the famous Sissinghurst Castle Garden and Smallhythe Place, featuring the Dame Ellen Terry Museum and a timbered, 16th-century yeoman’s home. The magnificent cathedral city of Canterbury and the beach at Camber Sands are both 20 miles away. Golf, tennis and riding are available locally. Shop 1½ miles, nearest pub just over a mile away.

Attractive, spacious living/dining room with open fire, rugs on wooden floor, door to terrace, and large window overlooking lake. Small, well-equipped kitchen. First floor: Two small, pretty carpeted bedrooms; one twin and one double. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. 1. Booked by myself for overseas relations, they were delighted with the property and location. The wildlife was good too! A welcome relief from the quakes of Christchurch New Zealand. June 2011.
  2. Very quiet and attractive location. Cottage was clean on arrival. June 2010.
  3. Location was excellent, the water outside was lovely, we just wished we could have been there a little longer. April 2010.
  4. Well appointed. Well furnished. Lovely location. Great grassy area for kids to play on. Very quiet. Probably not suitable for anyone over 6ft and anyone over 5ft would need to do a fair amount of ducking due to sloping ceilings upstairs. July 2009.
  5. Excellent base to stay in Kent to explore the beautiful countryside. Ideally situated for pubs/restaurants/take away. Aug 2006.
  6. Excellent cottage, in a beautiful part of Kent. The cottage is perfect for couples, but mind your head on the low ceiling on the first floor. Sept 2008.
  7. What a pleasant change to advise of a wonderful value for money holiday in a modern well appointed cottage in majestic and rural surroundings. We shall be going again as I defy anyone to find fault with this gem of a property. May 2008.
  8. Very good quality holiday rental, lovely and peaceful whilst being a short drive to places of interest and the fantastic beaches. April 2007.
  9. I think my answers say it all, it was a lovely holiday & we hope to go back again. Sept 2006.
  10. Great base from which to explore Kent. July 2006.
