Well-placed on the hillside to enjoy magnificent coastal views across the sea to the Outer Hebrides, and untouched by the rapid development of this corner of the island, this delightful detached holiday property is an ideal retreat to unwind and relax at any time of year. Standing alone and accessed by a track, it has beautiful sunsets over the sea, castles to explore; while the distant hills of Harris make for a memorable stay. There are boat trips to enjoy and many fine restaurants nearby, including the famous ‘Three Chimneys’ (5 miles away). Shops 2 miles.

Wide steps to main entrance and decking. Spacious living/dining room with wood-burning stove, rugs on wooden floor and patio doors to decking. Kitchen. Shower room with toilet. Open-tread stairs to first floor: Double bedroom (5ft bed). Twin bedroom. Both with Velux windows, rugs on wooden floor, vaulted ceilings. Splendid views from all rooms. Bathroom with corner bath, toilet.

  1. Fanastic property, views absolutely stunning!! Loved the log fire! A brilliant away from it all holiday, only one problem, no pets allowed so we had to leave our dog behind as we had him after we booked Hirta, would really love to go back so please have a think about maybe accepting dogs!!   2. A wonderful week in an amazing location. The views from this cottage are stunning and the owner very helpful. There are some great restaurants within easy driving distance but we ate in most nights just enjoying the view. Several times we saw dolphins from the cottage and once even a minke whale. Perfect for wildlife and seascape lovers and within walking distance of Neist point. June 2012.

  4. Staying at this cottage was a pure joy and we were lucky enough to have brilliant weather. We did our non-perishable shopping at Morrissons in Ford William and the rest on Syke - we also filled up with petrol as it is more expensive on Syke. The Co-op at Broadford has a petrol station (just after you get off the Syke Bridge) and the prices are more like the mainland. Because it was summer it got light around 3am and dark at about 11pm. We are thinking of booking again next year. May 2012.

  10. Myself and my new wife stayed at Hirta for our honeymoon. The property felt so much at home and has the best views that I have seen. I am from the north east of Scotland and have good views where I stay but from there it was just beautiful. Everytime you looked out the window it looked like a different place. The cottage itself is very well insulated and warm. Nothing like sitting in the evening with the log burner going also!!! Aug 2011.
