This detached holiday cottage has an elevated position and enjoys magnificent views over the Bristol Channel, the two Severn Bridges, Clifton Suspension Bridge and the mountains of South Wales. Originally the old village post office, it has been extended and modernised over the years and now offers a spacious base from which to explore the many attractions in the area. The main living room has three sofas, and the second living room has a sofa and two armchairs. The pretty, peaceful village of Dundry in north Somerset is dominated by the Mendip Hills that decorate the skyline, which makes it an ideal location for walkers, nature lovers and cyclists, and within a 5 mile radius are 7 golf clubs. The nearby Chew Valley Lakes also offer fishing and sailing. The centre of Bristol is only 5 miles away and has many interesting sites to visit. Cabot Circus is a state of the art shopping and entertainment complex and joins several other established shopping malls in the area. The suburb of Clifton has a sophisticated and lively village atmosphere with galleries, vibrant nightlife and Georgian architecture. Horse riding is 4 miles away (at cost). Chew Valley Lake, famous for fishing, is 7 miles. Cheddar Caves and Cheddar Gorge are 14 miles. Wookey Hole, famous for its witches caves, is 14 miles. Bristol airport is 2 miles. Ideal for golf. Shops 0.5 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

  2. Cottage was in a lovely location and had views to die for. The cottage was large and easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 kids, the extra receptions room was a big plus. Having said that most time was spent in the kitchen, a lovely social area. We went for Christmas and the cottage was nicely decorated for us. One bug bear was there wasn’t a pan big enough for the turkey to fit in, but if you’re not going for the Xmas hols then the kitchen is fully equipped. Dec 2011.

  6. Superb having 2 reception rooms. 1 for kids TV/noisy games. Lovely big lounge with enough comfortable seating for all. Brill big kitchen table for all to eat at.   11. We loved the rustic feel and the generous bedroom sizes and lovely bath room. The views were out of this world and it was just far away enough to be rural, which was lovely for dog walking and Dundry itself is lovely but close enough for our children to go into Bristol. Dec 2009.
