Whether relaxing in the lounge after a hard day’s walk, or lending a hand in the ever bustling warm and spacious kitchen, Hillcrest provides a popular retreat for all groups. The large enclosed gardens are a sanctuary for those wanting to roam and explore the nooks and crannies of this mature and colourful retreat. There are a variety of walks right from the front door, with the added attraction of a sandy beach just 3 miles away. Ideal, peaceful setting for touring the lakes on quiet roads. Restaurant 220 yards. Shop and pub 3 miles.

  3. Fantastic cottage to just get away from everything. Not much to do in the local area although the beach at Seascale is not too far away and is very clean. The cottage is on a busy road but did not cause us a problem even with three young children as the garden was secure with a gate. Millom has a Tesco and a post office for supplys but thats it. Cottage was clean and well presented. The gardens are large and well maintained. Great place to explore. March 2012.

  5. Hillcrest is a large period property with many original features and a lot of character. Excellent large garden, great for kids although very close to a busy main road, but secure. Plenty of room inside also. Feb 2010.

  7. Very spacious & well equipped although some of the electrical appliances were a little "high tec" for holiday accommodation. The heating system ensured the cottage was always comfortable. The gardens matched the cottage in terms of space but would benefit from a bit of a tidy up. Adjacent main road may be a concern to those with small children. Sept 2009.

  10. We stayed at Hillcrest Cottage at Cumbria and it was absolutely lovely, well recommended for families who want a big house and massive gardens and want the peacefulness of the countryside and also access to many fun days out. We will definitely be going there again. March 2008.
