Set in a superb location, ideal for everyone from couples to groups or families with children of all ages. The superb leisure facilities are available all year, and are spread around the spacious grounds, offering many different activities for all ages.
These holiday cottages comprise of a cluster of stone barn conversions (refs CP27, CP34, CP28, B6254, CP44, CP45, CP81, CP63, CP74, CP51 and B4609), the converted farmhouse (ref 26383) and Wisteria House (ref 25998), a fabulously appointed contemporary barn conversion accommodating up to 20 guests. It is cosy, spacious and bright, ideal for large family gatherings or special occasions, and the ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms may suit guests with restricted mobility. The first floor bedrooms have balconies, ideal for enjoying that morning coffee.
They are set amidst 9 1/2 acres in a very quiet and very rural area of South Devon, tucked away along a quiet country lane and close to a working dairy farm. The leisure facilities at Higher Poulston are spacious and offer many different activities for all the family.
Featuring an indoor heated swimming pool and a separate shallow heated toddlers pool your children will never want to be out of the water. The badminton and squash courts are purpose built to a very high specification. In addition there is a snooker room, table tennis and skittles. In the grounds surrounding the cottages there are large open lawned areas, BBQ areas, a tennis court and approach golf.
All the cottages are very comfortably furnished with leather sofas and pine or oak furniture and well equipped kitchens, making your self catering holiday one to enjoy and remember. Many visitors find themselves revisiting Higher Poulston year after year. This is a very family friendly holiday complex, the ideal place for mums and dads to relax, children to have fun, and grandparents to join in too.
Away from the farm there are many interesting places to explore, the on-site tourist information room will provide plenty of ideas for days out. A mile away, the little village of Harbertonford has a small village shop, a pub and post office, and the village of Morleigh, 1 mile, has a pub serving food. The South Devon coastline, close at hand, has many beautiful beaches and coves, scenic walks and pretty villages including Blackpool Sands and Slapton just to name two in the region.
Within easy reach are the English Riviera resorts of Paignton and Torquay, the boating and sailing centre of Salcombe on the estuary and the historic town of Dartmouth nestling on the banks of the River Dart. Woodlands Fun Park is a great tourist attraction and fun day out for families or a day spent visiting Dartmoor National Park with its hundreds of acres of wild rugged moorland, both about 4 miles away.
See giraffes, elephants, monkeys and gorillas at Paignton Zoo, 10 miles. The ancient town of Totnes, 3 miles, has a truly unique atmosphere especially on Fridays when the market comes to town or enjoy a day out to Dartmouth, 8 miles, where you can play golf on an 18-hole championship course (Higher Poulston visitors receive a discount at Dartmouth golf and country club), take a cruise up the river, or the ferry to Kingswear and ride on the steam train to Paignton.

  11. This is a lovely compact property with room for a cot on the landing or in the bedroom. Incredibly comfortable (quite firm) bed, modern bathroom, well designed kitchen area and good quality comfortable armchairs. A number of little extras like hairdryer, vacuum, pegs and airer, torch, cloths made things a little easier. The facilities were brilliant for families, a huge well kept grassy area, bowling alley and playroom and pool, games room and courts building all with plenty of space for everyone whatever the weather. Owners very visible, friendly and helpful, the best we have experienced. I visited with a 10 year old and an 18 month old and the property was perfect for our needs. Aug 2009.
