Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Very comfortable, and everything that you might need is provided. A quiet location, with wonderful views, but it is bit of a climb up the hill if you are not in a car. July 2012.
  2. A lovely warm comfortable cottage with sizeable living room and lovely enclosed garden. A steep walk to the pub / village and car parking. April 2012.
  3. Great area for walking you need good legs. The local pub down the hill is very good but does get very busy at weekends. The village is nice with small shops but for a supermarket you will need to go to the south of Sheffield (it is only 10 miles) Chatsworth is a must for all the family. You are next to the church which rings the time but it is pleasant to hear and not to loud. July 2011.
  4. We have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable week at Highbury Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. It was very comfortable, had everything we needed and the garden was fabulous! Our two young boys adored playing in the garden and hearing the church bells chiming - they also made friends with the very friendly neighbours! It is ideally situated, on the edge of the village of Hathersage - it was a very easy walk to the shops and to the wonderful heated outdoor swimming pool. There is also a lovely children’s playground right next to the pool which our boys loved. I cannot praise this cottage, and the village, highly enough! May 2011.
  5. This cottage was like a little slice of heaven. Wonderful location, comfy furniture, cosy atmosphere and absolutely spotless. We were really sad to leave as it felt so homely from day one. Fantastic powerful shower and the kitchen had everything we needed for a relaxing week. Beautiful wildlife right outside the window and lovely friendly neighbours. The pictures didn’t quite capture how pretty and welcoming we found the cottage to be in reality. We really can’t recommend Highbury Cottage highly enough for a stunning week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. April 2011.
  6. The location of the property was very good, close to amenities and with places to dine within walking distance but in a quiet and secluded spot. Feb 2011.
  7. It was very clean and well maintained with maintenance done to a high standard. Feb 2011.
  8. Highbury cottage is set up a quiet steep lane a short walk from the scotsman pub. The cottage has a large garden with nice views. There is plenty of walking from the door and also a short drive to Castleton and lady bower among other villages. We look forward to a return visit. Sept 2010.
  9. Everything was excellent. Sept 2010.
  10. Excellent location, spotlessly clean and tidy and good garden size. Sept 2010.
  11. Perfectly placed. Warm, cosy and comfortable. We stay in a lot of cottages and this one surpassed our expectations. Everything was provided and utensils were well thought out. Aug 2010.
  12. Good sized lounge - very cosy feel. Excellent kitchen facilities. Bedroom lovely. Superb garden/privacy. Efficient heating. Great location. Good parking area. June 2010.
  13. If I would like to go again, I will book the same cottage. June 2010.
  14. Very well appointed and furnished to a high standard. Nice view, extensive gardens, very quiet and walks available straight from the garden gate. June 2010.
  15. Highbury Cottage is a wonderful stone built cottage, with flag-stone floors and loads of beams. It’s location is terrific, high on a hill, overlooking the village, surrounded by charming houses, with extensive views over the valley. It just could not be better in any way !!! April 2010.
  16. The property was in a great location in terms of access to the Peak District. The location is quiet and away from main roads and traffic. April 2010.
