Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A lovely house in a beautiful location. Had all the equipment you could need and exceeded our expectations. The landlady was lovely and friendly and made us feel so welcome. Sept 2012.
  2. A lovely cosey cottage which the owner has put a lot of effort into making comfortable. After a long days walking the leather seats, woodburner and large flatscreen TV were lovely to come back to. All heating is included, plenty of coal and we were asked if we needed more logs. The cottage was very warm and cosy. It is a beautiful area with the Pennine way and the moors accessible from the doorstep. Lovely friendly helpful owner next door. Oct 2011.
  3. A well located cottage in the middle of the North Pennines. Walking distance of village with pub and post office. No phone, mobile phone, broadband, wifi or 3G a real bonus. Short drive from Alston with access to food shops including butcher, baker and co-op, mobile access, pubs etc. Excellent base for walking and cycling from the house and within a short drive. Within an hour drive of Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle and Durham. July 2011.
  4. Comfortable and big enough for 5 adults. May 2010.
  5. For three lady friends, the property was ideal but think the sitting room would be cramped if the full occupancy of six adults was taken, especially during the cold weather when it is too cold to make use of the lovely conservatory. We appreciated having two shower rooms. Nov 2009.
  6. This was a comfortable and well furnished property with views to die for! Aug 2009.
  7. High standard, provided everything we would need friendly owner. June 2009.
  8. The accommodation was excellent, extremely clean with everthing we needed to make our stay a comfortable one. We really liked being away from other cottages (The owners house was next door but other than that it was farmers fields) it meant we could relax and enjoyour break. We will be hopefully booking to go back again later in the year. A truly relaxing break, many thanks. Feb 2009.
  9. A bit remote but lovely views friendly locals, plenty to do if your willing to drive. June 2009.
  10. Lovely cottage, beautiful views. Varied weather from really windy and rainy to snow! and a few dry days in between. Owner couldn’t have been any more helpful. Oct 2008.
  11. The surroundings of the house is fantastic the owner is down to earth and very helpful. It was snowing but that was exellent as you could go back to a wood burning stove. Both my wife and I spent our 22nd anniversary and have every intention of going next year. Nov 2008.
  12. Outstanding views. Friendly environment, well worth a visit. Sept 2008.
  13. Can’t speak too hihgly of the experience. Everything (apart from a few showers) was wonderful. We just hated having to leave High Windy Cottage! Top marks all round! July 2008.
  14. Perfect place to unwind. Feb 2008.
  15. Very helpful and friendly owner. Lovely position and view from the front door was fantastic. Sept 2007.
