Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Mavis Cottage is in a lovely location - central for the Wye Valley, West Midlands and Welsh Borders with the beautiful reservoirs and black and white village trail. Kington is a lovely quiet traditional town. After many years of staying with your compant this is definitely one of the best - very well kept and the warm welcome with snacks and excellent helpful landlady were very much appreciated. Also an excellent enclosed garden for pets. Nov 2012.
  2. A warm welcome by the owner, tea and cake on arrival. Lovely cosy accommodation in quiet location. Great views from the conservatory over the farmland, and many footpaths to explore the countryside. I would thoroughly recommend it for a peaceful break. Oct 2012.
  3. We had a lovely arrival to sandwiches and cakes. The owner was very friendly, supportive and helpful about things to do in location. I will definitely be returning to Mavis Cottage. Great location to relax and plenty of space for dog to roam in garden of property. Sept 2012.
  4. Lovely cosy cottage, set in beautiful countryside. The ability to let our excitable year old sprocker run around the enclosed meadow land next to the property was a real bonus, as was the welcome sandwiches & cake provided by the cottage owner. Sept 2012.
  5. Lovely and quiet, and only ten minutes outside Kington village. We were very pleasantly surprised by the very warm welcome and the plates of sandwiches and biscuits laid out for us as a welcome. Sept 2012.
  6. The property was idyllic with everything one could want for a perfect holiday accommodation. Comfortable, superclean, well equipped and the log burning stove just perfect. June 2012.
  7. One of the best welcomes you could expect, the owner obviously cares! June 2012.
  8. On arrival, met by owner, made a lovely warm welcome with home made tea laid on. Cottage beautiful, lovely views, spotlessly clean and everything there for your comfort. Great little villages, cafes, restuarants and home cooking. Good roads with beautiful scenery. We couldn’t have had a nicer time with the owners so nice, they couldn’t have been more welcoming. Will definitly go back there - also great walks for our little dog, who loved sunning herself afterwards in the conservatory. great value - thank you. May 2012.
  9. Cottage very cosy everything we needed. Owner met us on arrival very welcoming had a fire lit, sandwhiches & cakes ready for our arrival. Enclosed garden ideal for children & dogs. April 2012.
  10. We visited Mavis Cottage at the end of March 2012 in glorious spring weather. What a wonderful weekend! The cottage was charming and cosy with all the facilities you could want, the location and view was stunning and our hostess, Marjorie, was warm and welcoming. She had prepared a lovely afternoon tea for our reception which was very welcome. Our wayward dog Bertie was accomodated by the use of 2 large enclosed fields to run in - one very happy dog! Both Marjorie and Mavis cottage get our personal A* rating and we will definitely return for another visit. March 2012.
  11. Lovely cottage with fabulous views, great welcome and dog friendly. Feb 2012.
  12. Best property I have been in as a holiday place!! Rural get away from it all, back to nature waking up to seeing sheep in the field when you opened the curtains. Very quiet to relax and chill. Lovely wood burner left laid to use, and plate of home made sausage rolls/mince pies & handwritten note on a photo of the cottage to welcome you! Nov 2011.

  15. Comfortable in all weathers, very quiet, rural location and vistas. A welcome tea laid for us. Surrounding countryside good for walking and surprisingly uncrowded. June 2011.

  17. This is a very cosy cottage with everything that is needed for quiet holiday. We could use the surrounding fields which belonged to the owner of the cottage to walk our dog as the sheep had been moved. There is a lovely little wood burner in the living room which was handy for the colder evenings. All the logs and kindling where stored close and handy. A little walk into Kington and you have the Swan hotel. The bar area is dog friendly so we could have a Sunday roast and keep an eye on our dog as well. March 2011.
