Property Description

Set within its own 4-acre grounds with public footpath giving direct access to the Black Mountains, this 18th-century house has panoramic views from all rooms. Llangorse lake offers water sports, fishing and nature reserve. Riding is available locally and the local treking centre is within 1/4 mile. Historic Brecon, Hay-on-Wye with interesting shops and eateries, Abergavenny are all within easy driving distance. Sandy beaches, 1 hour’s drive. Shops 4 miles, pub ¼ mile.

  2. Brilliant location for walkers and birdwatchers. Nearby Old Mill Bakehouse in Talgarth well worth a visit for delicious lunch. Pub in Pengenffordd, The Castle, has very limited opening hours so don’t rely on this for food/entertainment - we made our own! Plenty of room in house for 11 of us - z-bed was comfy, too, apparently. A fantastic place to spend a significant birthday - and blessed with the weather, though even if it had been cold the cottage was cosy and well-heated. Loved it and would love to go back. Feb 2012.

  4. Accommodation was clean and spacious (8 adults). Well equipped kitchen, great showers after a day walking; entrance ’lobby’ and drying area was very useful. Log ’fire’ very warming and relaxing in the evening. Good location for walking from and close to other walking areas. Crickhowell nearby had good pubs for food etc (The Bridgend Inn or The Bear) unfortunately the local pubs were shut. Feb 2011.

  13. The location is excellent for walking. The grounds were good for the children and adults to play in. The house was well set up with everything we needed. Should have remembered a radio for the kitchen area though. Loved the utility area/drying room - great area to get changed out of wet and muddy clothes. some noise transmission between floors due to beamed ceilings. Great to have access to a real log burner.
