Property Description

Henllys Lodge is a most beautiful spacious and luxurious eco-friendly cottage set in rural Carmarthenshire, being a detached house with large lawned gardens and benefiting from views of the surrounding countryside, sleeping up to eight people. It has Solar hot water roof panels and ground source heat pumps which provide the majority of the hot water and under floor heating throughout the property. With sheep’s wool insulation, it’s warm and cosy.  Awarded 5 Stars by Visit Wales. Formerly a small lodge house, it has now been extensively re-built and re-designed with eco-friendly and allergy-friendly features throughout; the floors are made from local oak with under-floor heating and each room is tastefully decorated. The ground floor being open plan, has a large matted lobby entrance where coats and boots can be stored and has the benefit of a large Cloakroom with WC. The large kitchen/dining room has all modern energy efficient A or A* rated appliances, such as Rangemaster cooker with two ovens, Miele fridge-freezer, Miele dishwasher, M&S microwave, John Lewis washing machine and condenser drier, granite work surfaces and all the cooking equipment and utensils you will need.  Double French Doors open out onto a Welsh slate patio area with garden furniture and barbecue.  In the middle of the living room is a double-sided wood-burning stove which is cosy in the colder months.  The 40" LED television has freeview channels; there is a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s, a CD player with I-pod dock, table football, a large selection of games and puzzles, books including guides of the area, and daylight lamps for reading.  There is also WIFI internet access and a telephone for calls within UK.  There are four bedrooms: three double rooms, two of which have en-suite wet rooms, and a room with full-sized single bunk beds. There is a separate bathroom with bath and overhead shower. All bathrooms have heated towel rails. The beds have allergy-friendly mattresses and bedding.   For those lovely summer evenings, after exploring the Welsh countryside, the large lawned garden offers flower beds planted with native plants flowering at different times of the year and a lawn leading down to a pond, teeming with wildlife including fish, frogs, newts, water lilies, etc. There is a double swing for younger guests. Fill up the bird feeder to watch all sorts of birds, including nuthatches, green finches and woodpeckers. Red kites and buzzards soar overhead.  There is private off-road parking for 3+ cars and a locked shed providing secure storage for bicycles etc.

Lounge: with Freeview TV, DVD and Radio/CD, WiFi Internet Access and IPod Docking Station.  Wood burning stove, table football; a cosy and well presented room being in two parts.

Kitchen / Dining: with electric RangeMaster cooker with two ovens and five ring ceramic hotplates, microwave, large fridge / freezer and dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, dining furniture and double French doors leading to the patio and garden

First Floor: Bedroom 1: with king-size bed and En-suite Wet room with Shower, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and shaver point

Bedroom 4: with two 3ft bunk beds

All fuel and power included. Bed linen and towels supplied.

Surrounding gardens comprises a large lawned garden, pond, mixture of native plants, mature shrubs, double swing, patio, outdoor furniture and BBQ. Off-road parking spaces for three cars and secure storage for bicycles and log supply etc.

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
