Property Description

Superb views

These 4 quality and characterful barn conversions are set in striking ’White Peak’ scenery and each enjoys one of the most breathtaking views in the Peak Park, across to the jagged and dramatic Chrome and Parkhouse hills. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed in the area. The pretty market towns of Buxton, 4 miles, and Bakewell, 12 miles, and the village of Hartington, 5 miles, are an easy drive from the properties. Climbing at the Roaches and Froggatt, the caves at Castleton, Chatsworth House and Alton Towers theme park are all under a 30-minute drive away. Three of the properties (refs 10847, 10848 and 10849) are single-storey and suited to partially disabled guests. Harebell Hill (ref 10848) has its own garden with chairs and has 4 steps to the front door, with Poppies Court (ref 10847) having two steps. Their creative conversions have given the properties individual charm, with old stone arches, high vaulted ceilings and original beams. Jerusalem Cottage (ref 9603), 120 yards across the road from the other properties, is a 4 level conversion which features a galleried bedroom, split-level living room and kitchen, with its own washer/dryer and dishwasher. Jersuslaem Cottage has its own garden with lawn, patio and bench. The other three properties have shared washing facilities, complete with washing machine and tumble dryer. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

4 steps and level access to entrance from rear garden. All on first floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen with beams and arrowslit windows. 3 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite bathroom and toilet, 2 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Fridge/freezer. Lawned garden and chairs.

All properties: NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. High chair. Video. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared barbecue. Ample parking.

  1. We booked this cottage with my brother in law in mind. He had a stroke last year, and mobility is now limited. The location of the cottage was ideal to access buxton, bakewell and lots of other places, which are close by. The cottage was everything that we had hoped for. All on one level and with two bathrooms. It had every comfort that you could need. Also the kitchen was very well equiped to accommodate a wide variety of cooking and utensils. There was milk already in the fridge for us, even a packet of chocolate biscuits. We would certainly stay there again, and also recommend it to friends and family. Well done welcome cottages. June 2012.
  2. There was tea, biscuits and milk waiting for us on arrival. The weather was quite dreadful for our weekend away, but it was November! However the accommadation was cosy and warm and clean so no issues. Nov 2011.
  3. The cottage was beautiful and set up in the hills with amazing views from every window! Can’t wait to book next years holiday back at Harebell Hill! June 2011.
  4. The property wasn’t easy to find but that was no fault of the owner it was the road signs or lack of them that caused some confusion. The property was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was small but adequately stocked with things you would need for a comfortable stay. March 2011.
  5. The cottage was equipped with everything you would ever need, including a full range of kitchen equipment and utensils, extra blankets, plenty of towels, toiletries and pretty much anything you can think of. The owner is obviously an expert at catering for everyones needs. We were welcomed with tea, fresh milk and biscuits to start us off and the cottage is idyllic, warm and comfortable. This is our second visit and there will definitely be another. Feb 2011.
