The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. An ideal holiday base. Golf and horse riding nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile. Properties 29673, 17926, 15825 and 13196 can be booked together to accommodate up to 28+1 guests.

  5. This was our second holiday at Hallsbank, and yet again we didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. The location is good, handy for the coast, the Lakes and Carlisle; it is such a comfortable, cosy welcoming cottage, with lots of space. It has obviously been well cared for, and 10 minutes after arriving you will feel "at home". Most of all, the Owner is so obliging and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Dec 2011.

  10. This is an fantastic house for a visit to the Lake District. As a family house i don’t think we could have found any better. The rooms where lovely and tastefully decorated for all the family’s needs. The swimming pool was wonderfull we took full advantage of that and the hot tub. We will be back next year. Oct 2010.
  11. We all found this property felt like home the moment we walked in the door. It was in a brilliant location. The owner was very friendly and provided us with a dozen free range eggs (free). We all used the swimming pool & Jacuzzi. We will go again without fail. Aug 2010.

  17. Lovely house - well furnished. Felt right at home. Would certainly go back again. Word of advice - if you are a light sleeper; take ear plugs as the next doors cockerel may wake you up! Personally, I found the wake-up call great as it reminded me that I was away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Far better then the sounds of sirens. May 2009.
  18. The pool/sauna/ jacuzzi/ hot tubs were a big hit for everyone. The owner is more than accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. It is very comfortable and homely, very spacious given that our booking filled the property. July 2009.
