This imposing Grade II listed property, one of a row, is over two hundred years old and was originally the headmaster of Pickering School’s house. Whitby is about 23 miles; the seaside town of Scarborough and the pretty fishing town of Filey are easily reached. The cobbled streets of the market town of Pickering are a 5-minute stroll, with castle, museum, church, steam railway, trout farm, theatre, swimming pool, bars and restaurants. Golf, fishing, cycling and bridle paths locally. Shops 200 yards, pub 150 yards.

  5. The property is well-situated, well-equipped and very comfortable for 12 people. There was plenty of space for everyone to be together, or have a little private time. We were a little concerned when booking since there was no external photo of the front of the property, but there was no reason for concern. Parking was a little challenge on some days. We will stay again inn a flash! June 2011.

  9. Hallgarth House is a charming and comfortable property in the heart of Pickering. It is ideally situated in terms of touring the area and the resteraunts and shops in Pickering are excellent. My 89 year old Mother in Law had an excellent time. In addition to this the caretaker "Mavis" was extremely helpful. I would definately stay at the property again. Sept.
