Property Description

Boasting lovely sea views, this charming miner’s cottage lies in a Heritage village in the far west of Cornwall. The end one of a row, it has been renovated to a lovely standard, and is located close to the coastal path, which offers excellent walking, pure Atlantic air and a choice of inns en route. Stunning scenery abounds, with wonderful opportunities for bird-watching, and due to its location, the surrounding areas offer many sandy coves and excellent scuba diving. There is a working farm down the nearby lane near the cove serving cream teas. Shop 400 yards, two pubs within 800 yards, including an award-winning real ale pub.

  10. Warm and cosy, nice furnishing, lovely conservatory/dining area. Nice touch having milk, sugar, teabags and biscuits left for our arrival. Weather not good enough to take advantage of the garden furniture. Kitchen well equipped but could have done with better knives. No contact with caretaker/owner. In-property information: Please inform visitors the fish and chip shop is only open for a couple of hours a day. We came back late one day expecting to get some food from the takeaway to find it had shut at 7pm. May 2010.
  11. It felt warm and welcoming but still spacious enough for 3 children, and was a lovely place to come home to each night. It was well equipped and had useful equipment such as baking trays, scissors and a microwave in the kitchen. We particularly liked having pictures of all the bedrooms in the online information - as we have twins we need to know that we can fit 2 travel cots in, and so we have to disregard any property that one shows pictures of the main bedroom.   13. The village of Pendeen has a very friendly atmosphere, a village shop with lovely staff & a good range of produce and the two local pubs do great beer and food. The walk to the lighthouse from Haddock;s End is just lovely. The cottage is ideally suited to traveling and exploring the Far West of Cornwall with Penzance about 20 minutes away by car, Truro about 50 minutes away & St Ives about 20 minutes away along the stunning coastal road. We particularly appreciated the complimentary items included in our cottage; items such as washing-up liquid, cleaning cloths, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls etc but most especially the pint of milk, tea, biscuits and fresh flowers. We were very impressed with the overall presentation of this cottage and would recommend it to other people. June 2009.
  14. This cottage is cosy and comfortable and the best we have stayed in so far. Within easy reach of the sea at Pendeed Lighthouse and we will definitely be back... Sept 2008.
