This spacious detached holiday cottage with traditional furniture and many original features is situated in a quiet corner of the Breton countryside.

There is a large garden, very close to the Nantes-Brest waterway - a beautiful river with towpaths for cycling, walking or riding.

Swim or windsurf at Ploërmel, 4.5 miles (7km), on the large lake with sandy beaches. The fortified town of Josselin is close by, or visit the Gulf of Morbihan, 18 miles (30km), and the beaches of southern Brittany, 30 miles (50km).

Shops, restaurants and beach 7km, café/bar 1km.

Ground floor: Lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom with basin, separate toilet; First floor: 2 double bedrooms, 1 plus single bed, mezzanine.

Electric convector heaters, open fire in lounge (initial supply of fuel provided), €20 supplement for fuel if required, bed linen and towels included in rent, cot, colour TV, radio, cassette player, CD player, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, lawned garden, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 3 cars. One pet welcome.

  1. This was a lovely property, carefully done out with an authentic Breton feel. The garden is absolutely gorgeous and the house very well equipped and comfortable. We loved the fact that it was in the countryside yet so near to two super bustling towns of Josselin & Ploermel. Mme. & Mon. were delightful and made us feel right at home. My only suggestion would be a couple of old bikes in the garage so you could take an opportunity of cycling around the lake but apart from that, pretty much perfect. We hope to go again. June 2012.
  2. We really enjoyed our stay at this well-equipped comfortable gite, with a large secluded garden (with mature trees for when we needed shade). Guillac village has a boulangerie (we like to get a fresh bagette in the morning) and the bar also sells the local newspaper if you’re into that kind of thing. The Nantes-Brest waterway provides excellent walking (and cycling) and we saw two otters. We also found a typical village restaurant in Quily which had very good value meals at midday and was well frequented by locals. Ploermel is a good local town for shops - and you shouldn’t miss the Astronomical Clock! A nice quiet rural location but with access to facilities and the motorway. We would certainly consider going again. May 2012.
  3. The owners were very welcoming on arrival. Accommodation is spacious & open plan with a large sunny garden & fruit trees. The location is rural and quiet with few neighbours, some form of transport is essential. There are some excellent cycle routes in the area which we made good use of, these link to the Nantes-Brest canal and the towpath, also great cycling. There are two small towns close by, around 6-7km, Ploermel for provisions and the historic Josselin with some good restaurants & eateries. Vannes is a little further away but not to be missed. June 2011.
  4. Spacious character property with all mod cons. Very homely, warm and comfortable. Super enclosed large garden, so safe for the dog, also large enough for children’s ball games. Coudn’t find visitors’ book, so left the owners a ’thank you’ letter. Very relaxing, in a quiet, country environment. Better weather would have made it all perfect. June 2011.
  5. Quiet location surrounded by beautiful countryside, including river/canal, and a large garden ringed by tall trees. Yet only a few miles form nearest market town and supermarket. Sept 2009.

  8. This is the second time we have stayed at this property and did not dissapoint us. It is ideal for a quiet family holiday perfect for experiencing rural France. Excellent facillities with everything you could ever possibly want. The surrounding area is good for both walking and cycling and we are sure we will be returning at a future date. April 2007.

  10. We were greeted warmly by the owners, a charming French couple who had driven a long distance to be there in time for our arrival. They made us feel at home immediately, and it was nice to think of the house as part of their extended family history in the area. The garden is huge - perfect for two boisterous young children - with seclusion and soft lawns as major assets. Inside there was plenty of space and we never felt cramped. The two nearest towns were easy to drive to, but far enough away for us to feel the peace of this mixed agricultural and forest land. We hunted out - and found - huge woods leading to the canalised river a mile or two away, and the sea was less than an hour away. Aug 2007.
