Couples coming to this gorgeous terraced holiday cottage down a quiet little lane in the middle of a traditional village will have the use of a single and kingsize bedroom, both full of character and style. This is traditional central Brittany, with market towns, granite villages, secluded valleys and beautiful rivers. Cyclists and walkers will love the many well maintained paths. The south coast is not far away, with a variety of lovely sandy beaches and many activities available, including excellent golf courses. Try the local crêpes, cider and sausage.

Shop, café/bar and restaurant 300m, beach 50km.

Ground floor: Lounge/diner, kitchen. First floor: Shower room with toilet and basin, 1 kingsize bedroom. Second floor: Separate toilet and basin, 1 single bedroom.

Electric heating, woodburner in lounge (initial supply of fuel provided), all other fuel and power included in rent May-Sep, €15 supplement Oct-Apr, bed linen and towels included in rent, colour satellite TV, broadband internet connection, shared washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, courtyard, outdoor furniture, barbecue, on street parking. Sorry, no pets. NB: There are open-sided stairs.

  2. A home from home. Warm and comfortable with all the necessary equipment. Friendly town with all the shops you need and a big supermarket on your doorstep. Pretty easy to get about and there are plenty of beautiful walks to choose from in-land or an hours drive to the coast and the megaliths. Sept 2011.
  3. This is a lovely traditional cottage, which has been well-modernised. It is an ideal holiday home for two, or even three people. Though on a side street off the main street of Guémené, it is blissfully quiet. The English owner, Mari, lives next door and was very friendly and helpful. Guémené is a characterful historic town, with lots of old and interesting buildings, yet totally unspoilt and not at all ’touristy’. July 2011.

  5. This property was lovely, it was actually much better than the photos made it look. When we arrived the owner met us and showed us round, she was very friendly and helped us during our week with any questions we had about the village and the area. The cottage was very clean and well equipped we cooked a nice meal every night, and enjoyed our evenings in after our busy days exploring the area. We caught up with our favourite soaps back home, enjoyed nice wine and relaxed in the comfortable surroundings. We also had internet use which helped us plan our days and make the most of our holiday. I would highly recommend this property. It is set in a lovely little village with a few bars and places to eat. The local pattiseries are amazing, the bread and cakes to die for. This was a home from home and we looked forward to getting back after our great days out, to relax chill out. If we ever go back to the area we would definitely book this cottage again we loved it. May 2011.
  6. The accommodation was as we hoped it would be, and was ideally situated near the centre of the village. Being out-of-season (we were the first occupants of 2011), it was quiet, and the sunny, early Spring weather, made the whole holiday a real joy. The cottage was adequately equipped for two people, and the owner was exceedingly helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this property both for its village location with proximity to restaurants, and local areas of interest for walking and exploration. April 2011.

  8. In a quiet location, but small town facilities available within 200 yards. Very well equipped - garden small, but thoroughly adequate. Barbecue supplied, but not mentioned in brochure. Guemene is ideally located for touring all Brittany. June 2010.
  9. This is a really well maintained and appointed property in a quiet but beautiful area of Brittany. With satellite TV and web access, those that want to keep up to date with Eastenders or e-mails will find it ideal. A great place for exploring the wonderful countryside with plenty to do all within easy access to Guemene. April 2010.

The cottage was so well equipped we didn’t want for anything, the people and place are both kind and friendly - always a good thing when your French is a little rusty.   15. The perfect place to unwind. From the well appointed kitchen to the spacious bedrooms a great deal of care and effort has gone into this cottage. The town and its streets are delightful and have been carefully preserved without being overdeveloped. We have had a glorious week and can’t wait to come back again. May 2009.
