Craven Arms itself has some engaging and historic houses, including a round house, thought to be a recognisable rest house for pilgrims travelling between Shrewsbury and Wigmore Abbeys. Medieval Ludlow, with nearly 500 listed buildings, Bishops Castle and Knighton, are well worth a visit. Fishing, horse riding and golf available locally, ease of access to the Welsh borders, Ludlow and Shrewsbury. Ironbridge World Heritage Site museums and exhibitions approximately 30 miles. Shop and pub 2 miles.

  1. This property is in a fantastic location, with beautiful views and a spacious garden. Although the furniture is a little dated in some of the rooms it is still comfortable with an excellent fitted kitchen, the most important factor for us was that it is so large and has plenty of room, so even with 4 families you did not feel that you were under each others feet at all. Feb 2012.
  2. Your pictures did not do the property justice, or convey its idyllic setting. Although it is perfectly placed to visit places of interest and natural beauty, the best thing is that you can walk or cycle from the door into outstanding scenery. Craven arms with good services is only 2 miles away. Great for a family get together, with a helpful owner a mile or so away when you lock yourself out. Dec 2011.

  4. Grove Sprightly Barn was a little rough around the edges, but homely and had everything we needed. Feb 2010.
  5. All on one level, no stairs, therefore, brilliant for very young children and very aged adults ! Plenty of bathrooms and cooking facilities. Two sitting rooms both with log/coal burners. Dec 2009.
  6. The communal areas were spacious enough to accommodate all of the guests at the same time and we liked the fact that the kitchen dining and living areas were linked. It would have been better if there was hand soap in the bathrooms though and the night storage heaters had been on the night before because the property was cold and we had 3 babies under 1 with us.   10. Bedrooms were helpfully in 2 separate wings with three in each, and living rooms and kitchen in the centre. This was good for accommodating different families and shutting out the evening noise from sleeping children. The garden, whilst just a grassy area, was great for games. Aug 2009.
  11. For our party (with 7 adults and 6 under 5’s), the accommodation was perfect - with the two sitting rooms and all on one level. Feb 2009.
  12. Whilst the photographs don’t show much of the house and the furniture is a little dated, the property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything you could wish for. We used all the bedrooms and our ages ranged from 4 months to 75 yrs old and the house suited everyone, the location was great, wonderful views and very peaceful with loads of parking. Jan 2008.
  13. It made for a fantastic weekend to celebrate a birthday. Venue, property, surroundings, etc were all fantastic. Would highly recommend it to everyone and would love to visit again sometime soon! Feb 2007.
  14. Accommodated 10 of us easily. We really appreciated the fact that sound doesn’t travel through the house!! Some of us were singing till 3 without disturbing those who’d gone to bed hours earlier! Nov 2007.

The accommodation was just perfect for our needs which was two families plus my mother in law for her 75th birthday - there were 2 lounges which was a real bonus so the younger children had a seperate area - lots of space to seat us all and the quality of the kitchen and equipment was very good. The area was lovely - it was nice enough to sit outside and the view was marvellous - we would definately rent this property again. Nov 2006.
