  1. Fabulous holiday accommodation photos do not do justice. Lovely central location, easy to get around. Owners of Grouse cottage were very friendly and informative. It was lovely to share time with the donkeys, pigs and calves. They made a very relaxing atmosphere when sitting in the garden. Will definitely be returning to the Grouse Cottage. May 2012.
  2. Fabulous cottage. The children loved the donkeys, pigs and chickens in the field next door and the rocking horse and toy box inside were great unexpected extras. Extremely relaxing and well thought out. Oct 2011.
  3. Great holiday, perfect weather, wonderful location, access to hills and walks was just through a gate at the top of the fields. Young lambs wwre all around and the two donkeys had just foaled. Great pubs/food very close by. Owner very helpful and informative about local walks. April 2011.
  4. Great location and hospitable owners. The nearby Lazy Trout pub was a fantastic find: best food we have had for ages in a lovely family friendly pub. Excellent walks on the doorstep. Well equipped and comfortable cottage. April 2011.
  5. The cottage was homely and warm, in a lovely area with good views. Oct 2010.
  6. We loved having the pigs and donkeys in the field next to the cottage, the children especially loved this. The location is excellent, being so close to Ramshaw rocks meant we could pop up there anytime we felt like it. April 2010.
  7. Relaxing place to easily make a family holiday home. Toys to play with and animals to visit-big winners. March 2010.
  8. Owner very friendly and helpful. 2 donkeys on site who are little stars! Lovely walks on property. July 2009.
  9. This was far, far better than we imagined - the pictures don’t convey how beautiful, how private inviting the cottage is. The ability to walk out the front door and up the hills was magical; the cottage itself beautifully set up, with well-thought out toys for the kids and extremely comfortable in every respect. The rooms are a pleasure to look at, calm and relaxing. Fantastic. June 2009.
  10. Comfortable cosy cottage. Set in beautiful countryside. July 2009.
  11. The local walks were fantastic and the views from our accommodation were stunning. Oct 2008.
  12. The perfect location to get away from it all. Aug 2008.
  13. The location was perfect for an active weekend break walking and sightseeing. We had not visited the Peak District before but would definitely return! May 2008.
  14. This was a beautiful house in a beautiful location, just near the road and some great, varied walking. The photographs on the website don’t actually do justice to the Grouse Cottage, this was a very comfortable, well stocked house. My best thanks to the owner who made us feel very welcome. April 2007.
  15. Excellent location close to the Ramshaw Rocks which presented easy access for us. Oct 2006.
